[Question] Elemental Equilibrium, Traps, Minions and Avatar of Fire

Well, i have a question concerning the on-hit term of Elemental Equlibrium. Does the on-hit imply that it just has to be a elemental hit with no damage involved to trigger the debuff? So could f. e. Lightning Trap or Minions with elemental damage other than fire trigger EE even though my char has Avatar of Fire??

As I think about it, could I also combine Dominating Blow with Dual Totems, where even though I don´t deal damage the debuff would still be applied and trigger when an enemy gets slain by a totem?

It would be really nice if some of you could make this a little bit more clear to me :)

Thanks in advance,

Same question as above. I tried investing one point for the elemental equilibrium skill but refunded it because it was not giving me the expected outcome. I tried casting a cold snap in an enemy but it did not immediately give the effect of -50% resistance or whatever to other elements.
Bump for this question. Regarding EE, when will it take effect? Sorry, english as a secondary language here. Wiki did not help a bit.
I have not tested what you are asking, but the wording on EE says "Enemies YOU hit" Totems, minions, traps, and mines are not you. Therefore they should not trigger the EE and therefore not change the enemy's resistances. The only way this would work for you is you lower their resist to the other elements so your totems, minions, traps, and mines would reap the benefit of the lower resists.

I could be wrong though.
I can see your / Back is turned and / If I could I'd / Stick my knife in.

In my case, I'm actually doing the damage by casting spells. Casting a cold snap in an enemy did not reduce their resistance by 50% to other elements. Meanwhile, casting incinerate for a period of time did create a -50% to ice and lightning elements. Maybe there's a hidden mechanics that I need to do to trigger it.
