Path of exile addons?
" Yeah its a difficult one because I'm not touching path of exile at all. Everything I'm reading is straight from memory stored in your RAM. Nothing is received from the game itself. |

This looks like a very useful app. I'd love to use it as well.
PoE is a wonderful game but it is in dire need of user modification like you have done here as the UI is horrendous to use at times. Each area of the screen needs more modification options. For instance, I have disabled the chats simply because they clutter the screen and disguise enemies frequently. Although I would love to monitor trade chat for useful items, with its current implementation it's not worth the hassle of filtering through the wall of text. What you would be better off doing is using the Suggestions forum to request the implementation of a particular feature. There's simply not need to clutter up an incredibly streamlined and attractive UI with features that aren't in any real way needed.
In this particular case you can simply do the math as at least one other person has suggested but, more importantly, I think you should consider why such a feature would be attractive to you or anyone else. It seems to me that it's not a matter of mere curiosity like, say, wanting to know your cumulative playtime across all characters (cf. the /play command in Guild Wars, which has this feature), rather it's because the game seems to grindy and wanting to know when that grind will 'pay off' is the primary motivation and concern. I could be wrong, of course, but it seems to me logical when it comes to the way I've seen add-ons utilised in MMORPGs: people are either lazy or uninterested and want something to do a given in-game thing for them. Your particular add-on idea doesn't do anything like auto-sort the inventory (but seriously, ARPGs need this fucking feature already!) or take in-game actions for the player, it's simply my experience with MMORPGs that people looking into add-ons aren't looking into features but short-cuts and for a very particular reason or reasons. In any event, seriously consider making a thread in the Suggestions forum with your idea for this particular feature and see where it goes. It's not a stupid idea and the developers are likely to interact with you on it, saying that it's either not something they're interested in or something that they may look into adding in the future. If they implemented it I'd think that it would be as information added to the /played command currently in game. Last edited by TheBitterness#5292 on Nov 8, 2013, 10:58:55 PM

" The problem with having a command such as /played is you need a start time. So basically what my addon does is, i press F5 when i start grinding and it begins a timer. " From here I can figure out things such as, how many seconds/minutes/hours has the timer been running? " Now i can do some simple math: " and now just format and print it using DirectX: " |

Any kind of addon like this is unfortunately not allowed because it could expose information that the game normally doesn't make clear to the user (giving them an advantage). While I understand this particular one is harmless, the policy is to prevent users feeling that they have to run (potentially dangerous!) third party programs to have a level playing field.

What about a DPS meter?
I know you can see DPS on each skill. But if GGG would implent a DPS visual in the game that shows the dps on every party member for example, that would be great. shouldnt be much work to make that kind of GUI and calculation. |

" So why not add this as a feature? The simple way to do it is add the calculated time when you hover over the experience bar. "The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence."
