Loud screeching noise

Whenever I exit out of the game, I have consistently heard an extremely loud (louder than the game should be making with my sound settings) screeching sound. It only occurs when exiting the game, logging out to the login screen doesn't cause this.

Are you using a Creative Labs sound card? I have a similar problem, in that there is a sudden kinda screech noise when I quit the game (only lasts about half a second, but damn it's loud) since using the --softwareaudio thing in the target line to fix the BSODs, may be related...

I get the same sound, although im not using creative labs sound card (says Realtek in my dxdiag)

Yea i get the same thing, i have the sound about 50% or so and use speakers, needless to say i almost always get a jump out of that screech when i close the game
