Question about "Physical Damage To Return To Melee Attacker"

As far as I know, you can get a maximum of 50 (or is it 24?) "Physical Damage To Return To Melee Attacker" on helmet, belt, chest and shield for a total of 200.

In addition, you can get a spiked shield with an implicit 260 Physical Damage To Return To Melee Attacker.

For a grand total of 460 (or 356?) "Physical Damage To Return To Melee Attacker" ?

My question : Is this damage boosted by anything ?

Let's say I have +10-16 physical damage on an item (ring, amulet or gloves), does spike damage is boosted by it ? How about +elemental damage on those same items ?

How about +physical damage% mod like the one found on the Magnate belt ?

Finally, does passives that boost melee physical damage (without specifying any weapon) boost it ?

If I'm returning elemental damage, does +elemental dmg% passives works on it ?

Good questions. I always like the idea of thorn based builds but they tend to not be very good. Here is hoping these stats actually scale with something.

One thing that pops up in my mind. The Vulnerability curse, which increases physical damage cursed targets take. Seems like it would work, have not tested though.
I am also interested in the answers to the questions asked in the OP.
When you block or dodge an attack, thorns damage isn't applied. The spiked shield gives ES and evasion :( so you basically want IR if you're going thorns build.

We need a few passives that support thorns builds, especially since ranged/mages aren't effected by stacking the stat.
