Play on Mac Direct 3D error

Hi,

When I launch the game with PoM, I can't even get to the title screen.

I get an error message "Failed resetting direct3d device objects".

If I try to debug, I get this script :

I tried different settings and even updated my OS X from Snow Leopard to Mavericks (hoping to get new drivers for my graphics card) and the game still doesn't work.

Laptop specs :

2.3GHz Intel Core i5
4GB 1333 Mhz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB

Any help would be appreciated, ty

Have you tried it using BootCamp and actually running the game under Windows instead of a wrapper/emulator/VM? What was the outcome of that? Do you still receive the Direct3D errors?
I'm not sure how well the HD 3000 works with this game, but if you're sure you have the glx drivers for it installed, you should be able to get it to work as long as all the components are installed that it needs.

Technically Mac and PoM is not supported (officially). There is an unofficial mac port thread you can post in with questions if my suggestions don't work.

My suggestion:
you need to install d3dx9_42 and d3dcompiler_43 into your PoM installation or run the dxsetup.exe in the redist folder of Path of Exile from within the same prefix as PoE for PoM.
I tried to install the two direct3d components but the game still doesn't work.

There is no dxsetup.exe in my resist folder.

I'll try the mac thread. Ty
