I'm in Act II Merciless and I've hit a roadblock. I'm getting too squishy and even when I try to farm ~55 level zones I can get one hit by epic mobs. I'm frustrated that maybe the build I am pursuing (Blender Build by 2xp: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/491481/page/1) places too much reliability on higher level items which, to be honest, I simply cannot afford with the amount of arming I am achieving.
I've attached my stats in hope that someone can guide me in the right direction and suggest what gear or skills I should start looking at in order to live that bit longer. My DPS is currently sitting at 1.3k. Skill tree:

Umm is running blood magic on duel strike with no life leech a good plan?

The blender build works if you have the primary component (Soul Taker) but theoretically it could still work without it (you wont be as invincible as the ones with soultaker though). Don't use blood magic on dual strike. Run clarity on hp, and 1 aura on mana (place a reduced mana gem when u turn it on, helps u save some mana)change ur auras up depending on the maps u are on. The blender build is also heavily predicated on Cast on Damage Taken, which u will be getting later on at act 3 merci. I suggest you join parties to blitz your way to the new quests on act 3 and get the gem. Also, you have no utility spells like enduring cry, decoy totem, molten shell, enfeeble/warlord's mark. Use those spells...

You have no resists.
You're using BM without life leech. Your gears suck. Your build is bad. If you were a HC player you would have died before 30 and since you're a standart league player I assume you can't finish ac3 on merciless with this char. Better start over. |

you are doing well you just need to look onto What's making you hit the Roadblock, not much Fire Resist I can see on your Stats, I'm also following same Build as x2P
Take a look at the Thread I manage to kill Piety Merciless without much powerful Gears and or Resistance although when she's on Ice Form I die easily because of lack of Cold Resistance.. and also I noticed you have better gears than Mine regarding Defense. but I have a Good Resistance and I think it goes with how you play your Character. on Merciless level you better have atleast 50 to 60% all Resist to Survive against Elemental Damages. they are right you better get Cast Damage on Taken although mine I don't have it yet. if no Cast on Damage Taken always use Decoy Totem on critical situation and also Enduring Cry when on Fight no need to Redo your Build just Farm and get better Equipments. I would love to share my Character Interface but I'm currently at Work. :) this is my current Build: Passives: Updated Gears just last night when I needed more Cold Resistance:

The Blender build requires better than average equipment at a minimum.
Your equipment and stats are awful. At level 44, I've got 75% as much life, nearly maxed resists, non-negative Chaos, and better mitigation. [~50% evade, ~42% armour, same 29% block] I'm frankly not sure this is fixable based on the variations in the passive tree from the Blender build are all bad choices. But I'll try to give some advice: #1 - Respec - http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgQAAdwFLRHVEiAXHRc-G_ohYCXfJ-0ppTGeMgk0kzWSOuE8LUCgR35KyE3jTipT31eXWNtei185YEFgS2NwZU1sRm6qcmxyqXTtd2J4DXrvfNmC5ITZhO-I8YqvkBGZK5stm4OeuaQZplepbqyqtfK2Qbc-vYG-ir6nwA_E9sauypDP-NBH0k3d4-dj7-PyRf4K_o8= Same effective resists, +20% worth of HP nodes #2 - Run Determination & Grace - If you were running Hatred & Grace before. If your issue is survival, adjust. If you don't have the mana to run two defensive auras, run Grace & Clarity to keep your mana pool up if that is your problem. #3 - Run Warlord's Mark & Enduring Cry - You need Endurance Charges. I'm generally running 2-3 which nets me an extra 8-12% mitigation of everything but Chaos. #4 - You should be running a 4L Dual at a minimum and no Blood Magic. Sorry, but what you are doing there is nuts. You need to be running Melee Splash + Dual + Multistrike + Some Kind Of Lifeleech, run BM if you can get a 5L if you insist on doing that. #5 - Your equipment needs almost complete replacement. You need a 4L at a minimum, preferably a 5L chest at this point. You need to be at least 8-9k armour and have a granite & jade flask on hand to boost that with. You need to have minimum of 63% resists [so you cap on 3 endurance charges] and no negative Chaos Resist. You need better weapons. http://poe.xyz.is/ <- use this to find better equipment Start with that for replacing your weapons. try Crypt or Fellshrine. you can farm 4L Armor Chest there and also some Weapons.
better look for Resistance and +Maximum Life bonus on Gears. yes he is right you better check poe.xyz.is for some Gear and your weapon also yes it does have high P. Damage but not enough speed. if your having problem with Mana try getting Slitherpinch for 2 Chaos only. and then invest on other Gears.. throw in some Chaos for your Gear Upgrade. on early Levels it's best to Farm just a few minutes on Ledge. Fellshrine or Docks. before I was at your level I was farming Ledge Merciless and stayed there for about a day and Farming some Orbs and Good Gears.
