CoTD and Mind over Matter don't work with DoTs
I noticed this when I tried to see if I could get the Level 1 "Cast When Damage Taken" support gem to proc due to my own Blood Rage chaos damage, and it didn't work after taking thousands of damage, even when the gem supposedly procs every 440 damage.
It also never procs due to the fire damage taken from Unrighteous fire. The new keystone "Mind over Matter" also does not affect DoTs. These two issues might be related. Last edited by Khalixxa#0534 on Nov 8, 2013, 5:28:59 PM

Tested this with Righteous Fire and fire patches in maps. In each case, the "Cast When Damage Taken" support will never proc. It works fine with non-DoT sources of damage.
Mind over matter is not absorbing any of the damage from these DoTs either. |

Working as intended.
Cast on Damage taken only procs when told damage is taken in 1 strike. DoT's are not single strikes. Last edited by Bikalo#4007 on Nov 1, 2013, 7:02:51 AM

" Even more simple. Righteous Fire is "degeneration", not "damage" in common sense. CoDT won't work with "degeneration" like RF\Chaos Bears from Waterfall Cave\etc Also: not necessary to get all the damage in 1 attack - " Remember, suffering is convenient. That is why many people prefer it. Happiness requires effort. Last edited by HarukaTeno#6546 on Nov 1, 2013, 9:02:31 AM

The skill Righteous Fire explicitly says that it deals fire "damage".
The skill Blood Rage also explicitly says that it deals chaos "damage". Furthermore, the gem does not work with any DoT whatsoever, so either the tooltip needs to say something like "Does not work with damage over time effects", or DoT needs to be called something else. The gem is either not working as intended, or not working as stated. Also, the skill "Mind over Matter" does not work with any form of DoT, and for the same reasons, it is either not working as intended, or not working as stated. |

" It explicitly states "Fire Damage over Time". Damage and Damage over Time are distinctly separate mechanics currently. CoDT looks for Damage, and you feed it Damage over Time. Simple. Mind over Matter explicitly uses the word "Hit". Damage over Time does not Hit. Working exactly as it claims. Last edited by Vipermagi#0984 on Nov 9, 2013, 9:55:31 AM
