Discipline and Eldritch Battery

Oddly, my forum search turned up nothing.
If I obtain Eldritch Battery, will running Discipline aura grant me: more mana (from EB), more Energy Shield (because EB only converts what is on me), or nothing? Or something else? Thank you. Underrated stats: Basic human decency, small quantum of respect, microportion of compassion

I guess it is difficult in advance to calculate then at what point it is "worth it" to run Discipline. I mean, I am too dense to figure out in advance how much more mana I will get by spending mana to run Discipline. (Whether this is "worth it" in terms of taking up a blue slot, and whether other factors come into play, such as party members who might benefit, I ignore for right now.) But in general, if I am not getting +energy shield and hence survivablity, it's probably not "worth it", and in many cases would probably net me less mana than I would gain by the ES-to-mana conversion. You gain mana. Potentially a lot of mana. At level 6 Discipline gives ~160 ES and reserves ~100 mana. Of course any +ES% passive nodes or gear you have will increase the ES you get from Discipline even more. All that ES is then converted to mana. Then any +mana% passive nodes or gear you have will increase it even more.

If your hardcore then what you will really want is Chaos Inoculation AND Eldritch Battery. 1HP and no shield is how true hardcore players role, oh and if you die with 1hp then your a bitch, because 1hp is more than enough hp to beat the entire game.
