Compare to TL2

I actually haven't played Torchlight 2, but have heard very many good things about it.
I've never seen a Beta product in as such good shape as PoE, and I'm curious how you feel 1.13 stacks up against TL2. Pros and Cons, what are your opinions?
Underrated stats: Basic human decency, small quantum of respect, microportion of compassion
It is my understanding that the TL2 community is virtually dead with everyone leaving pretty quickly. Not sure if true or not.
Really?

If you really want to know how YOU feel, which is all that really matters, download
the Torchlight 2 demo. Easy to do via Steam but I think you can also get it via means
direct from Torchlight site.

It pretty much sums it up, no trading scene either.. since mods make every item in game easily accessible.

Some people farm with moded items, with ridiculous amount of magic and gold find , making gold, socketables, and legendary items way too common.

It is a fun game.. worth every penny if you ask me, but my TL2 icon is already gathering dust.

@ Op..

I would try it out, but expect to return to this fine game sooner or later :)

Standard: Shiverlyss, Lythyssa, Solaris, Goldorak, Clash, Cleavage, Sunflow.
Pretty much what people have already posted.
No trading due to easily cheated in items / MF edits, endgame mapworks is a little lackluster since the maps are A. Bought from a vendor, B. Make the mobs easier rather than harder, C. Better version can't be found off of drops.

It's a great game, and I have played through NG and NG+ as each class, but it has no longevity or any kind of serious competitive aspect. Definitely a fun game to run through with friends though, especially with the potential scope of mods to come. Worth the purchase, but PoE offers a much deeper game of the genre.
PoE and TL2 full two different roles in the ARPG genre. PoE is a lot more competitve and balance then TL2.

TL2 is more of a casual game that is meant to be played with friends or by yourself. One of the main attractions of TL2 is the fact that you can mode the game. Once the devs release the GUTS system, I expected there will be a flood of new modes that will make the game even better. It has unlimited playability due to the fact of being able to mode new classes, items, dungeons etc.
They are very different games. TL2 is a singleplayer game with multiplayer support. PoE is a multiplayer game.

TL2 is designed in a way that makes it fun for a run through, but not much past that. The story is a joke, and the gameplay mechanics are clearly not thought through at all, leading to massive levels of imbalance and a severe lack of legitimate customization.

TL2 is more kid orientated from what I've experienced. None the less, its a great game and well made.
PoE is much better though in my opinion.

Not only that, but you can mod the game as well to improve the UI, expand the game, add more items that suits your taste just like Minecraft in a way. Do not limit yourself.

TL2's storyline is left to be desired, but at least it is better than The Other Game. The gameplay mechanics I find it much better than D3 and even PoE. It just feels comfortable. Of course, I really love PoE's gameplay mechanic, but I find TL2........perfect. The customization can easily be improved if someone manages to mod with that from TL1, which had the best customization by far unless you are talking about the items. Otherwise, I do not get what you are saying, character build?

I still play TL2 after finishing the storyline, and already logged in many hours. I am pretty much balancing out with PoE, but mostly I play TL2 because I do not want to overplay PoE and lose the enthusiasm once PoE goes OB.

It does look like TL2 is catered to kids, but really, it is mostly catered to those that played D2 and TQ (21-33 years old) and want to relive the glory days of ARPG. I modded the grahpics of TL2 enough to make it more brutal than D3 to the point it is almost on par with PoE. But, PoE still beats out TL2 when it comes to the design of the game, and the environment being so brutally awesome.

With the downfall of D3, many are going either PoE or TL2 or possibly Grim Dawn. I for one would play them all just to keep the hunger of playing ARPG games alive and sated. ;)
Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.

The same fate as Titan Quest. With the way Grim Dawn is turning out, it is going down a similar path, so its gonna end up with the same fate. People will mod it to get the good stuff, then lose interest.

So much for TL2 is being the best blabber blah. Its chewing gum. you chew it, tastes sweet and sugary, but when it becomes bland and tasteless you spit it out.
POE is a constantly evolving game, so expect balance changes, buffs and nerfs STILL!
