Maximum character length 7 is too short for character names. EDIT: I was misreading the message.

Whoosp nevermind! the error wasn't maximum number of letters reached, it was maximum number of characters on my account, haha stupid me...
maybe that error message needs more feedback? edit #2: the message "maximum number of characters reached" just read to me as if I'd entered a name that was too long... I think if I've reached the maximum number of characters on my account it should just tell me when I click the create button... instead of letting me click create and try 50names before I realize I need to go delete one of my unplayed characters. You should be able to have more than 7 characters on your account as well. I think the limit is 24, unless there's a Steam restriction.

i think the limit is more like 15 or 16

Base is 24 Characters I believe.
