Well... Technically, there's nothing stopping a Berserker using ST. Since nothing from the ascendancy conflicts with ST. Add to that, Iron Grip passive is fairly close by so you don't even have to use a Gem to apply it.

Literally the only Ascendancy I can think of that has something that wouldn't work with ST, given that it is a Projectile Attack that can be used with any melee weapon (So can use 2H or 1H) is Slayer with its Impact node, as that specifies a Melee Attack.

Everything else is just "Attack" or in the case of Slayer "2 Handed Weapon"

Spectral Throw is a bit janky; Mathil loves the skill, but everyone else generally stays away from it since it doesn't typically do crap for single-target without weird/annoying gem-swap shenanery.

The usual answer would be "why do ST when Blade Flurry is, liek...a million times better?!"

That said? Like Tarille said, nothing's stopping Berserker from running physical ST. Berserker can do damn near anything it wants, really; all its most important bonuses apply pretty universally to all skills. To the best of my knowledge most existing Spectral Throw builds do Poison hijinks and the like because the skill's damage is a bit on the lower end compared to similar 'projectile' builds with bows or to Blade Flurry builds, but otherwise ST is perfectly mechanically sound. Plus the aforementioned single-target issue. If you can fix that though, then have at it. Mechanically, Spectral Throw is no different than any bow attack save in its applicable weapons. Think of it as being like "Arrow Skills except I shoot my sword". Anything that would apply to a bow if you replaced the word "[X]" in the node with "Bow", should work on Spectral Throw.

Or, more plainly...just dodge the word 'Melee' and you should be good.
