Unable to fully grasp Chaos Inoculation

Hi folks, I am currently playing a level 63 Witch named Aydria with a mostly fire damage and mana (total+regen) oriented passive tree. I love the play style and my damage output since I am able to solo maps pretty well however, at level 62 I chose the Chaos Inoculation keystone passive and ever since then my survivability has gone down drastically; I can't figure out a way to deal with damage over time effects that diminish my shield while i am running away and eventually kill me since health potions are rendered useless. I am considering refunding the passive but I really would like to wrap my head around how to use it effectively because I love running with energy shield rather than health.
TL:DR; Since switching to CI I can't stay alive as well as before, dot's take me out with no way to counteract them. Are there any ways of handling the energy shield better or are there items/affixes that allow me to refill shield? Any help would be appreciated, I'd hate to have to refund it due to lack of skill. :P |

ghost reaver and vaal pact are both companion keystones to make CI build work properly.

all seems have sense, 1 keystone is making es regeneration instead of life from life leaching and other aplies life instantly BUT how do u want leach life without any nodes in tree?

" Equipment. There are mods on equipment that leech 1 or 2 percent of damage you deal to mobs back as life, but with the nodes it will be leeched back as ES instead. Edit: Also, there is one life leech node near the beginning of the marauder start point of the tree... but it looks like a serious pain to get to for a witch. Before taking the passive, was your Energy Shield at least double your life? If not, you made a mistake.

You are immune to chaos so I assume the dots killing you are fire ignite. There are dousing flasks available for that. Also you can invest in ES delay so once you get away you will more quickly start regening.

Ignite doesn´t kill you usually. It´s bleed the really gets you with CI. The best tip i can give you: don´t get hit by a bleed attack. There are no flask-mods that cancel the bleed. That is one of the reasons i switched to a ES+life build.
