Additive and Multiplicative

Hello,

There are several math related issues i feel very confused about

First one is about attack speed
"
Trying to determine how much of an increase in attack speed there will be when i have;

20% Increased Attack Speed from a weapon with 1.86 Attacks per Second.
14% Increased Attack speed from nodes
29% Increased attack speed from lvl5 Faster Attacks gem

Far as i know all 'Increased' are additive, but i've read some posts stating that ias from weapon is multiplicative to those from nodes/gems? im confus

Is this correct?
0.20 + 0.14 + 0.29 * 1.86 + 1.86 : 3.0318
OR
0.20 * 0.14 * 0.29 * 1.86 : 0.151032 + 1.86 : 2.011032

Thanks for your time :)

The attack speed on the weapon is already factored into its listed APS.

(Weapon APS)*(1+Sum of increased effects) is how it works.

So

1.86*(1+.14+.29)=2.65

all "increased" mods are additive. So it's just (base value) * (1 + % increased)
all more all additive. (base + 1 * % increased) * more

Every nods/mods work that way. life/es/dmg

Then you have
your base attack speed * (1 + 0,2 + 0,14 + 0,29)

The two values differ.
''The attack speed on the weapon is already factored into its listed APS.''
Meaning, the +%APS on weapon is not additive with other additives?

I've read that the game rounds some values up/down, which?

Are the below calculations correct?
"
1. Maximum Life * Increased Maximum Life% + Maximum Life
100 * 0.50 + 100 = 150

2. Clarity flat(not regen) * 1,96(bloodmagic) + Clarity flat
21 * 1,96 = 41.16 + 21 = 62.16

3. Maximum Mana * Increased Maximum Mana% + Maximum Mana * 0.0175
200 * 1.10 + 200 * 0.0175 = 7.35(default regen)

Wish there was a spreadsheet that did all these calculations for me, i am terrible at it.

%APS is multiplicative with all other modifiers, and is factored into the weapon tooltip (the number you see displayed is the modified APS hence the blue color).

Local +% Modifiers ALWAYS modify the item itself and are ALWAYS therefore multiplicative with all other modifiers.

I see, but you didnt anwser my question. Do i also include the weapons 20%IAS ?
In short, Who's calculation is right, You or Masharab?

Thanks.
Mine is. Because as I have told you (this is the third time) the APS on the weapon already factors the on-weapon AS bonus and so you don't include it again in calculating. It takes literally seconds to test in game.

I understand, english is not my main language so i got a little confused.

Could you help me with one last thing, are these calculations correct?

1. Maximum Life * Increased Maximum Life% + Maximum Life
100 * 0.50 + 100 = 150

2. Clarity flat(not regen) * 1,96(bloodmagic) + Clarity flat
21 * 1,96 = 41.16 + 21 = 62.16

3. Maximum Mana * Increased Maximum Mana% + Maximum Mana * 0.0175
200 * 1.10 + 200 * 0.0175 = 7.35(default regen)
They need context and you're approaching the math really inefficiently.

Maximum Life = (Base Life)(1+%Life)

No idea what you're doing with two or three.

Believe its obvious by now that math is not my strong suit :p

2. Applying Blood magic's lvl 20 196% multi to an example value that is supposed to represent the amount of mana clarity reserves, No fixed value yet because i'm unsure what level i will need.

3. Trying to determine the 'default' or 'base' mana regen per second, which i believe is 1.75% of maximum mana. Increased Maximum mana% from nodes/gear.

Thank you for being so patient with me
