What is considered a "spell?
For items that have modifiers for "spell damage" does that basically mean any skill? Or does it mean only the "magical" spells like fire and lightning. In other words, are skills like cleave and split arrow considered "spells?"

Basically any skill that does not use your weapon damage is a spell.
So no, cleave, split arrow etc are not spells - their damage is based on your weapon. |

The +AoE support gem has a tooltip that says
" The website mentions that " In game, linking a +AoE support gem to cleave or ground slam increases the mana cost of the skill. Players in game are saying that the skill gem does indeed work with these weapon-based skills. Is the tool-tip wrong or do +%spell modifiers on items also affect weapon-based skills? And as it is such so also as such is it unto you Last edited by IMDisappoint#1134 on Sep 5, 2011, 5:21:07 AM
