Spectral throw mechanics?

This may be common knowledge, but I recently found out that if you link a projectile speed gem to Spectral Throw it not only increases the speed that the weapons travel but they actually travel about 3-4x farther. I link it with projectile speed if I want to be far from the fight, at least a whole screen away from monsters.

" ok here is the problem with projectile speed the ST projectile travel too far that it scales the same with no gem used when the projectile comes back to you .. Projectile speed gem is still good though because it is safer...method...... but why not play bows haha. Plus that gem will destroy your deeps and mana. do increased phys dmg with melee weapon nodes increase dmg? it does not say melee damage,but melee weapon
