Which would you prefer?
1) Reviewer barely plays game in order to vomit out a review as quickly as possible, thus endgame content doesn't really make his review and the reviewer's opinions are based on snap judgments and a lack of actual game experience. or 2) Reviewer plays the game thoroughly, experiences end-game content, get a passable familiarity with all of PoE's many complex systems, and gives a review which those familiar with the game will not immediately recognize as vomit on a plate. If I was in the game reviewing profession and had no prior experience with PoE, I'd read the existing press, find the Raptr Q&A, figure out that this "maps" thing is some kind of feature which a lot of the beta players seem to really care about, and keep playing the game until I at least got to try out a few maps. As someone brand new, I'd probably need to log about 40 hours of playtime to do so, and I'd probably play about 8-10 hours per day. So that's 4-5 days of just playing the game, plus time to actually write the thing. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted. The patch added a lot of features and changes. PvP modes being a major one. Guilds have yet to really take off. There needs to be reviewing done on the actual release, not just the beta with a cursory overview of patch notes. I bet there will be a month of reviews though, especially due to the popularity on steam.
