Client.txt file

My Client.txt file is 103MB, I think thats a pretty ridiculous waste of space. Is it really necessary to have a file that logs everything permanently?
If I left this to OB, or a bit longer it could really get out of hand (like up to GB's). Think of what would happen if someone actually made a spam bot to increase the size of everyone's Client.txt file?!? Anyway, is it safe to delete it? Has anyone else been clearing theirs? (If you cant find it the log file is at %Grinding Gear Games%\Path of Exile\logs) | |

From what I can tell this can be wiped. Looks like it just logs connections/patching information/chat for players to check errors and such. I renamed the Client.txt file within the file directory, then created a blank Client.txt file and the game loaded up and played just fine.
Just be sure to put a new Client.txt file back in the directory if you delete it, launcher/game may have problems loading if it can't find the log to write information to. | |

You can just delete it. I do so all the time.

Sometimes it can be useful to be able to look back into the client log for reconstructing whats going on, so I dont delete it completely but clear out everything beside the last some days ( a week or so) from time to time to keep it small.
But, I cant really understand if there is a need to log things from a deactivated (global?!) chat... this is the most content of the file and also makes navigation inside it much harder then 'needed' by its sheer amount. invited by timer @ 10.12.2011

" It isn't just storing chat information. Looking back through mine it stores connection information as well as update information as it's updating. I guess it doesn't really bother me, working with so many Linux servers as linux apps tend to log everything anyways and it doesn't come as a surprise to find large log files. gzip *.log -f :P At any rate, I like that it's logged. It's also useful for proving that people actually did say something, especially devs, as you can see in this thread.
First? Mirror Of Kalandra Dropped. Chris said something in November and I proved it in February (on page 3) with the help of my chat log =P. You never know when that log will come in handy.
