Steam Related Log In Issue

Originally, I wanted to download PoE through GGG without going through Steam. Unfortunately, the GGG client always disconnects me after a couple of hours. I am on a low bandwidth connection, so it would take me a couple of days of downloading.

I gave up and then heard that it could be downloaded via Steam. Steam servers are great and I downloaded PoE through it for 2~3 days. And played the game, it was fun! Unfortunately, Steam has NOW removed POE from its' library.

I am now trying to run PoE directly without going through steam. What I have done is as instructed below:

1. Download the PoE standalone installer
2. Install to somewhere like C:\Program Files (x86)\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile
3. Copy C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Path of Exile\Content.ggpk to C:\Program Files (x86)\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile\Content.ggpk
4. Launch standalone client, let it patch

Unfortunately, what I see is the PoE standalone installer is trying to redownload the whole 4gb. The client.txt file under the Path of Exile folder 'Logs' is increasing in size and will probably download the entire 4gb before it unpacks. Sigh!

Is there anyway around this? I am quite frustrated. Otherwise, is it possible to get a validated torrent file to download the game? GGG servers seem to always cut-me off midway of downloading.

Thanks.
