Leap slam was inspired by Super Mario Bros. You jump on top of enemies.

Diablo 2 mostly, and the map system was extremely similar to Mythos (another game made by the blizzrd north devs, just not many people played it).
Grinding gear games were really big fans of blizzard north I can imagine, not that thats a bad thing ^^. D2 and mythos were my two favorite action rpgs. IGN- FrOArrow

did anyone ever play NOX? i was turned on to it like a week before d2 came out, but it does seem like d2 was based on it a little bit.
