More different death animations for same monster types

One aspect of arpg that is important is combat feel. And one ways to improve it is death animations. If all same monsters have same death animation it does not look good. More different death animations the better, and i think it would improve the combat feel of poe
Could you post the names of some of the monsters, or some screenshots you think look bad? Cheers!

I don't think this is a huge deal, but it is somewhat noticeable for monsters like squids and Tentacle/Whipping Miscreations when they die at the same time.
For example, ghost type monsters could vaporize / vanish in the air.
I want spiders and insects to spill more nasty juices upon being cracked open.
Disregard witches, aquire currency.

Hmm I am not sure you understand what I am saying.
You have one same death animation for ever same monster type. I am not talking about what death animation looks good or bad (but will in the later part of my post). If i look on something like goat man, you will hit them with a aoe spell/skill and they all will fall in same animation (witch is very slow by the way, the animaton is done so that he stands a little than slowly falls down). It is very easy to see for all human like enemies.

My suggestion is to add one/two more death animation for same type of monsters (and i mean for all monsters in game), so they do not fall all the same way.

I know this is a lot of work, but I thought about what is lacking with combat feel with PoE, and i must say its not that much the animation of characters that you control, but more death animations of enemies. A lot of them is just slow fall down. That is why there is a lack of punch.

When it comes to the death animation and what looks good, and what bad. Generally skeleton death animation are satisfying, and the reason for that is they break in bones and pieces.

So for all "material" like monsters they should break, things like those stone statues should fall apart in rocks and parts(similar how its done with skeleton, stone golems). Carrion animation in act 3, also, make it break, not just fall.

I noticed when you kill monsters there is small patch of blood where they fall. Why not increase the blood on ground? You can barely see it.

Also the thing you can implement is actually animation falling parts from living enemies (or if not falling at least removing parts of body in spray of blood, as its done in sacret 1).
If you fight a human like enemy, there should be a death animation where his arm is cut off, leg, or head. You dont need a physic based engine to animate it, just do it the same way you did for skeletons.

The combat feel is very important for a arpg game, and again I know my suggestion will need a toooon of work (if you ever do it xD), but hey just giving suggestions.

You'd like to think that's a good idea right? But in this game you can raise "ghosts" as zombies and stuff so you need to know where the "ghost" died. This is why your particular (quoted) idea just won't work well with this game in its current form.

I think if you had a screenshot or vid of a bunch of monsters all dying in the same way and it looking stupid, this would help your case. :)
Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:

Most monsters actually have several death animations, and they are chosen at random when they are killed, but some many have less than others, or they may be more similar.

Yeah it's a fair point we'll get around to it eventually, it's just a time and resource thing
