Does Anyone Use the Covenant Spidersilk Robe Anymore?

I have two of these, and can't really see a use for it. I mean it's got way too many weaknesses/quirks, it's seems more like a build disabler than enabler.

The fact that it reduces max life limits spamming you can do, limits the links you can put on your gems, which when you think of it flies in the face of the entire reason of wearing a robe that adds two free support gems, blood magic and added chaos damage. So now you have a massive 8-L chest, but you no hp to cast with.

What am I not seeing here? I mean you could use eldrich battery for arctic armor, you can't use the mana for any auras so... er Build Disabler Spidersilk Robe?

Actually, this robe is amazing for incinerate if you 6l it.

Edit: Yep Cant is right, incinerate doesnt work with LoH, just tested it so go for either life leech or spell totem instead. I guess it would be really OP if it worked with LoH.

Look up the Covenent Pulser, as well. If I were going for a DPS caster without Low-life, this is what I'd do.

Also, LoH doesn't work on Incinerate, you need the Sybil's Claw, but it works rather well.

You can make almost every builds working with this. Its basically a BM build with someway to regenerate ES.

You can either use life leech and life regen applied to ES or the unique ring since no mana regen doesnt do anything to you.

Blood magic is universally applied to all of your gems, not just gem in your chest.

The real fact is nobody use it anymore

I would say max reduced mana cost from the tree is a must for this robe and don't forget that this is the BM keystone - so it doesn't give a mana modifier like the support (even a high lvl BM support is still a HUGE mana multiplier, which you don't have with the robe).

And you should think about a 6L with cheap supports.
e.g.:EK + Increased crit chance (115%) + crit damage (130%) + faster casting (120%) + LL (130%) + Added fire (130%) [+the added chaos from the robe (150%)]
In the above example faster casting will drain your life a bit faster thanks to the fact that you cast faster, but on the other hand you also leech faster.

EDIT: or even better (i somehow didn't think about IW) - forget about crits and go instead of the two crit related gems for Iron will (you want str eitherway for base life and IW has no mana modifier) and whatever else you want to put in

ah ANOTHER impossible to get Shavronne's item. Screw it. Shavronne, ya did it again.

If you want bloodmagic simply take it from a tree. That chest is ES so for bloodmagic it's like 0, and you also got reduced hp as a drawback, if it's ES is not enough.. It's worse than tabula rasa. Added chaos damage level 20 has 50% more damage than level 15.

This armor is useless now.

ah ANOTHER impossible to get Shavronne's item. Screw it. Shavronne, ya did it again.

You can use Zealot's oath + blood dance boot. It will be a pain in the ass to keep up the charge tho, also, since the armor reduces life and the boot gives little to no ES. Your other items need to be stacked with life+ES+res. And you either go cookie cutter or better has a godly weapon. So it can work in theory, but not really worth the effort.
