Mood of the game...

I must admit, running through the prison with mobs randomly springing out to attack you brings back memories of Diablo 1. The lighting is awesome! However, I do feel as though the mobs move much too slow and are too easy to avoid, making me miss the days of Blood Moon Clan and Fallen who would rush you as soon as you open a door. That's another thing I miss, doors. So far I have not encountered anything I can interact with in the world other than barrels and chests and corpses.

Doors were awesome, running away and misclicking that door taking that last hit that slaughtered you.
Well hopefully other beta testers post about it too, that is what beta is for... Making the improvements that will make the game better! so keep up the good work with testing and hopefully door's and stuff will be added!

Ugh! This is so true lol. Good times.
Thanks for the input guys, I'll go ahead and mention doors in the feedback.

Lol yep, and locking the Butcher out and spending like 10 mins arrowing him through the grated bit, so good.
It's so beautiful that it just blows my mind away :D
Doors were fine until you figured out how to channel mobs into your sword with it. True for any entrance way, really, but a lot of the D1 mobs became the same if you just sat by a doorway and waited till they came to you.

I just hope the other mobs PoE implements will have stronger AI. Right now it looks like most of the mobs are charge in and melee, with a few casters/archers. If the mobs stay too flat and similar, it will be the part of the game that could kill it. Some more variety in tactics will help keep the game interesting and more dynamic.

And it would add to the mood of danger and suspense. If they're able to develop high priority targets, glass cannons, slow-but-really hard hitters, etc. the whole thing gets kicked up a notch. The easiest way to kill a game's mood is to have the enemies be trivial and unvaried.
Old Tom Bombadil is a merry fellow,
Bright blue his jacket is, and his boots are yellow.
None has ever caught him yet, for Tom, he is the master:
His songs are stronger songs, and his feet are faster.
I actually wish the game was a bit more flashy. The effects for skills and such seems a little muted.
Hopefully the AI will have it so the mobs will go through other nearby doors and flank you; would take away the funneling effect.
