Mr_G's CausticGaze Build - Level 26 Poison Arrow Trapper (Video Inside)

Basis of the Build:

To do as much damage over time in the largest area possible using poison arrow. During levelling of the character it was found that using Lightning Traps to Proliferate shock stacks and Fire Traps to add burning damage really improved the clear speed and so it was made into a hybrid trapper / poison arrow build.

Gameplay:

The way this build does damage is by throwing down one or two Lightning Traps to shock stack the mobs, followed by Fire Traps and Poison Arrow to do damage over time while you kite and find the next group to kill. A demonstration of this can be seen in the video I have attached.

Using Eldritch Battery with Discipline and Clarity allows you to get the high mana regen needed to run Artic Armour, which provides survivability and slows mobs that chase you, keeping them in the Poison cloud and Fire spread over the ground. The Blood Dance boots give extra health regen and Atziri's Foible grants a large amount of mana, as well as allowing you to use high dexterity bows (135 Dex instead of 179 Dex required).

Skills:

Poison Arrow - Increase AOE - Empower (with bow giving +5-6 with levelled Empower gem)
Lightning Trap - Iron Will - Fork - Elemental Proliferation
Fire Trap - Increased Burning Damage - Fire Penetration - Multi Trap
Bear Trap - Added Fire Damage (+1 to skills from bow)

Utility Skills: Vulnerability and Artic Armour.

Auras: Grace, Discipline, Clarity, Purity.

Still waiting for the changes to DoT effects.

On a side note, this build is rather good in PvP. You can kite your enemy rahter well and the degen from the Poisons arrow (~1350 damage/s) and fire traps along with vulnerability curse have the enemy running away before they had a chance to get to you.

Managed to kill a lvl 87 Aegis Aurora guy who apparently was unkillable, the good thing about DoT effects is you can't block them.

It will be level 26 with a fully leveled Empower gem.

Good thing I tend to play solo, because Poison Arrow is great for clearing.

This build, even without the +1 All Skills / +2 Bow skills bow is great for quickly leveling a character solo. Got to endgame faster than any other build I've made.

been trying to buy a +3 bow skills bow for ages because i want to do a poison arrow build >:(

Good luck, I managed to find mine which is why I made this build.

I guess you could try and craft one, all you need is a level 64+ bow, unfortunately both of the +1/+2 stats are prefixes though, so you'll have to get lucky on the Regal :P
