My Frenzy Charge Duelist Build [1.1.3]

This is what I did in Anarchy. It’s a pretty tough character. I rarely die. I took on "twinned" bosses, a yellow mob, a blue pack, and a rogue exile all at the same time with this build.

I use the Blood Dance boots along with Frenzy charges for big life regeneration, approximately 12% currently, along with high block chance for defense and Frenzy with Melee Splash for offense.

Build:
Old
Blood Magic
Block Chance/ Defenses/ Frenzy Charge / Iron Reflexes
Life
Block Chance/ Frenzy Charge / Life
Damage Fillers
Endurance Charges / Resists / Unwavering Stance
My current build. It has some respeccing.

I didn't spec out of Blood Magic, until I got a Soul Taker. I also didn't run any auras, aside from Grace, until I specced out of Blood Magic, which you can't really run any auras anymore until speccing out of Blood Magic.

Skills:
Old
Frenzy: Melee Physical Damage, Melee Splash, Life Leech, Added Fire Damage. Multistrike is fun in the sixth link. Weapon Elemental Damage, if you need bigger hits for leech.

With a Bringer of Rain, I use Frenzy, Melee Splash, Added Fire Damage, and Multistrike. If I need the leech, I switch out Multistrike for Life Leech. If I need bigger leeches on something like Dominus, I also switch out Melee Splash for Weapon Elemental Damage.

Purity: Reduced Mana.

Tempest Shield: Culling Strike.

Enfeeble, Enduring Cry, Fire Trap, Blood Magic.

Leap Slam where ever. Used for traversal, mostly.

Other Auras:

If you need armour:

Determination: Reduced Mana

or

Grace: Reduced Mana

Whichever, gives the most armour. If you don't need the armour, go with:

Hatred: Reduced Mana

for the damage.

New
Cyclone: Added Fire Damage, Weapon Elemental Damage, Concentrated Effect.

Leap Slam: Culling Strike, Item Rarity.

Cast When Damage Taken: Enfeeble, Enduring Cry.

Auras: Hatred, Purity of Elements, Vitality, Reduced Mana.

Equipment:
Hasn't changed
Weapon: High physical damage one hand. I used an alright axe that I found until I got a Soul Taker, which I also found.

Shield: High block chance, 30+. Higher armour/evasion. Life.

Boots:

Everything else: High armour/ evasion, life and cap your resists.

More damage on gears helps, too, of course.

Flasks:
Hasn't changed
I need to optimize these, but...

I have 3 health, a quicksilver, and a mana flask on my bar. The mana is to replenish for faster recasting of Tempest Shield between maps. Three health flasks is overkill for this build. I never run out of charges on one. Rarely ever have to use any. You could go with more quicksilvers and/or some defensive flasks.

One of my flasks is "of Grounding" to dispel shock. The rest are just what I had lying around.

Bandits:
Hasn't changed
Normal: Skill point (Kill all) or Health (Oak). I took the skill point.

Cruel: Skill point (Kill all), physical damage (Oak), or attack speed (Kraityn). I took the skill point.

Merciless: Frenzy Charge (Kraityn)

Character Screen:
Old
These are with my charges and auras. No defensive flasks are being used.

New
These are with Frenzy and Endurance charges.

Current Gear:
Added rarity swaps

The jewels could use more rarity and I want a Wheel of the Stormsail eventually, but here are the rarity items.

Updated my current build, even though there seems to be no interest in it.

Also, there are a bunch more videos of it in action on my YouTube channel. I'm currently half way through level 68 maps, but don't have the supply of 69 maps.

Why iron reflexes and not Phase Acrobatics + Ondar's? It would be just a few skills away and would prolly give u a better all around def.

I am building towards something like this: http://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAgQBAecEfgSxBbUM8hLhFCAV8Bm0GlUa2xutHOcg8CECJd8q9izpMBkwcTB8Nug6QjpYPeI-z0TnR35I7kp9S3hMYFBHUUdT31cNWNtaGmEhZKNlTWegah5qO2qTbmlwPnTteK57jH11fyuE2YTvhxmHdo19jb-QdJHOlWaZK5uDns2gtKLqpcunMKgYqn-quKvFrK-vp7ZBt9O7472Bvea-p8APxqLK09Ih0k3TftQj1e3WitfL2WHdDd2o5FHnru968i_2o_e--WP7qvzF_ro=

The only thing I fear is it may be too low damage to be effective but time will tell.

I don't want high evasion or dodge chance because I want to be able to block. The Culling Strike on Tempest Shield works pretty well against bosses. Otherwise, while not using Grace, evasion and dodge would be a lot more beneficial.

The defense from Iron Reflexes is minimal really, with my current skill set up. And the character is beefy enough as it is. I could probably drop Iron Reflexes for more damage though.

Updated for 1.1.3.

The "old" build is still with the old passive tree, but it at least gives you an idea of how to go about leveling the build.

Edit: I know this is old, but I just started playing with him again today. Working on setting him up for solo Dominus runs.
