Goatmen and Molten Shell

The level of Molten Shell that the Goatmen Shaman cast should be looked at.

In the below picture, the Shaman was at full life before one attack. As you can see, the Shaman is almost dead and the Shell did not explode.

Spoiler

This seems to really lower the danger involved with facing these guys. I've had them explode plenty of times (and man it hurts), but to see them get so close to dead here just seems wrong.

These guys were in the Rocky Climb in Ruthless. My char is level 42, so only +3 to the area.

We'll take a look at that skill at higher levels. Because you're hitting very hard, rather than with lots of small hits, the armour of the Molten Shell will not absorb a huge amount of damage - We may need to turn the armour up to compensate, but a slow hitting high damage will often kill a shaman before the shield explodes because of this.

It should also be noted that elemental damage doesn't count towards the shield triggering. We try to take this into account with the Molten Shell balance, because most high level characters will be doing 20%+ added weapon damage as elemental damage.
