If you have proof you have been scammed ( twitch vod / screenshots ) does the scammer get banned?

So i guess from what i have heard from people, go ahead and start scamming ggg wont do anything about it even if you have video proof?

EDIT: IMO trading between leagues is un fair and should be bannable offense.

Chris, the GGGuy, hinted that he dislikes the cross-league trading and feels like it is cheating.

Maybe they bury down the Cross-League trading forum for good on release
and make it a ban-able offense after an initial warning.

well i think its allways situational, because you can still die loadingscreen crashes while entering a map(like me)especially on underground river... so u can also call this cheating to death on hardcore! thats why i wanted to get atleast something from my stuff back to hc. i hope you can understand me.

If you've been "scammed" doing cross league trading, you've now learned a lesson not to trust people. That's all you're going to get out of it.

Be thankful it happened in PoE and not in real life with your money.

This is not the problem. The problems is the possibility to buy your way up an competitive 4-month ladder with your past in-game accomplishments although the design implies that everyone shall start on an even playfield.

Furthermore are there bugs and you die due to them.
I thought this is recognized as a normal thing in today gaming industry. :P

Spoiler
Aside us being beta testers, still.

They could make discussion of it against the rules from the forum or in-game chat, but they couldn't ban cross-league trading, because it's impossible for them to stop person A from emailing (or IMing) person B and arranging the trade.

Well, they can't refund items due to their own policy and abusing potential of refunds.

But I imagine that they give out warnings and put suspicious people to further investigation, maybe to check if they make RMT with their scams. Furthermore scamming people out of a agreement is somewhat abusing. I can imagine GGG could punish this as it is: Hostility against another user.

Support is not always telling you how they further handle a report. This is also a normal thing and better this way. I am fairly sure that given the quality of customer support, they handle everything just fine.

If anyone is still concerned, I recommend to write an E-Mail to support@grindinggear.com. They can take the critique this way in a more substantial way than just a thread which doesn't get recognized by the right people anyway.

Yes, it got similar problems to handling RMT affairs.

It is up to GGG how they can handle it.
Making advertisement for it with opening an own sub-forum
is not the right way as experience shows.

The real problem with punishing scammers is that they simply elevate scamming to a new level. If there were bans issued, scammers would simply start trying to get people banned unjustly for the fun of it. I recall in Dark Age of Camelot, quite a few people posting anonymously about how they got kids banned for innocent acts. It's just a new set of rules to operate under, and just as much fun for them.

Frankly, I'd prefer that GGG spent it's time and money making their game better... not holding the hands of people who should know better than to engage in high risk behavior.
If u get scammed by the use of game mechanics with no out side modification of the system in place the scammer will not get banned , in ANY game for that matter.

If u make a deal with a player on a outside line of communication ( like a fourm or team speak ) however the transaction happens in the game following the game mechanicis u will not get banned.

If u are make a deal on a outside place and the transation happens outside of the game , u could be banned .

If u deal with any RTM players, and or web sites. U could be banned

It is VERY hard to a company to use information they gain from a web site , or any sorce for that matter ( twitch , team speak recordings ) that is not in thare game to ban u for 2 reasons.

1 They do not have direct access to the these sites for information

2 They have no way of confirming 100 % that thare is no fake or forgery happeing. This is y if your acount is stold and cleaned out u are not reimbursed your items becuase players would exploit this to thare benifit. The only games that can do things like this are games that have massive databases so the devs can actualy go back and find the time something happend and know 100 % if thare was a bug or problem or theft. Also the game has to have a stable economy so the creation of random new items dose not break it , like EvE Online.
Just a sec let me grab a beer...@#*@ Ok how did I die this time

Learn the rules, it's the only way to exploit them.

The sudden existence of a sub-forum for cross-league trading surprised the hell out of me.

Its like Hamsterdam.
