Dumb Mistakes

So, yeah, my HC Shadow died today - not to desync, not to Vaal, Piety, Titty Bitches or Voidbearers, but to my own stupidity. :D
This is a place to share your dumbest PoE-Moments - unlinked your 6L, sold your q 20 lvl 20 favourite gem, died due to some idiotic thing? Whatever it is, here is the place for it.

So, I was just levelling my third HC Shadow, after 2 had died previously. Up came the dreaded Vaal fight. It was entertaining and I dismantled the guy.
Awestruck by my own prowess, I ventured on into Sarn, killed them bugs and undying thinking life is great. Enter unique undying - I knew this was the guy who used bear traps. Did I do anything about it? No, I just stood there, viper struck him and reaved his fellows - one step forward and end of story. :D
And just shortly before I had found Elemental Proliferation and was so happy about it.

OK, Shadow Nr. 4 just killed Hillock - next time I'll take care where I step.

My dumbest yet? Was playing with a friend, just warned him to not shoot FP at an Elemental Reflect Pack. 2 seconds after: "Hey, look what I can do! Discharge!". Famous last words.

Level 84, dead in a level 66 map.

Yeah, best to just run straight up the far left side there until you're a few levels higher and can fight that guy. Unless you have very high life/armor or are much higher level, this is not a mob for fighting, this is a mob for laying down and avoiding.

You HC guys have nerves of steel. I see the appeal in it I really do but the league name is appropriately intimidating.
Ive dabbled in hc but to really get anywhere in it you have to know the game's mechanics inside and out and I don't feel ive reached that level of knowledge yet.

Maybe one day ill join you guys but in the meantime your horror stories frighten me.

Enter random 71 map with temporal chains-25move/as/cs-3frenzy charges in OS.
First pack, next to the map portal is blue pack of chaos-faster attack snakes and a rare rock with haste aura. The frenzy charges kick in. 2 seconds later standard.

The dumb thing is that i tried to just leapslam back to the portal and got block-stunned and kept desyncing back to the same spot. Had enfeeble and decoy but wanted to use them once i got some distance.

Rip 85.

Most are from my low life ( very low life) MF sporker.


Enter random map. See melee bandits. Eh, they don't have chaos, I got 3k es, who cares about 2 randoms that break through my zombie meat shield. Poof.
This is how I learned that even melee bandits can deal chaos damage.

Enter wharf map, final boss ( the GMP snake). Kite him using the map to block his projectiles, and spamming the totems from a safe spot. Doing the same routine, when suddenly a projectile goes through the previously impassable terrain and I die. The snake did not move at all from his position....

Enter sewer map. First mob pack - blue chaos bombers. I did not even see them until a few seconds after I had died, when they moved close enough to get in my screen.

Alt+Tabed the game and forgot about it.

Happened at Axioms Prison when Brutus came to visit.

To my credit, I didn't die, but I almost died and was super embarassed. After just wrapping up a dual Temple Piety fight for the first time and feeling pretty good about myself, I managed to run in after my awful drops and get stunned by Piety's lightning bolt attack which was still continuing postmortem, nearly killing me. XP

I was swapping mana potions from my stash on a CI shadow and didn't notice I'd accidentally switched with a caustic potion until I used it.

For some reason I seem to have this urge to run around with two of the same gems installed.
Not very discerning about my inventory.
Could be why I am so bad at the game.
