Kid Theifs - Thunder Trap Shadow** Lots'a Numbers
Introducing my latest project to be, The Thunder Trap Shadow.
Days in the making tieing everything together I have devised an end game plan to be reached. ** Making some updates and considering an alternate to some things. ** Added Leveling Section, Discovered some errors in the passive tree. ** Critical Strike Chance with daggers "Does Not" work with spells. ** Cannot detonate "traps" manually, but they trigger often. ** May switch out Voidbringers later. Table of contents: Overview of Inventory Passive Tree + Bandits Special Gear Crafting Base Stats & Gem Breakdown DPS Outlook Leveling & Farming Guide ![]() So what's this all about you ask? well the key idea is to have manageable crafting in completing a character, while maximizing it's potential with items synergizing efficiently. The heavy emphasis on uniques in this build makes it a lot easier to get near Best In Slots without having to craft endless amounts of gear. The uniques themselves in this build tie in together specially to make it best overall to use uniques over rares. As we walk through the theorycraft, you will see how this all pans out :) Level 92 "completion" Bandits: Alira - Passive - Alira Simple enough, get more mana to up the base to help with regen and depth of pool to cast the high cost trap spells and skeleton totem. You don't need any physical, cast speed, or attack speed from cruel difficulty and finally the power charge ties in with the crit/spell damage theme of the build. " Special Gear Crafting This next section is an "indepth" look into which rare items need to be crafted. If you decide to follow my build I hope this piece I researched and put together is a handy ledger for you to use and simplify your crafting processes. Before opening this next section, the image is rather large and might confuse you for a second lol ^^ but this is 3 items side by side where the main stats of the item are under the "possible outcome" underneath that are all the possible prefix's and suffix's that item type can have. This will help you calculate the odds to get the right stats when you craft up. Rare Items to Craft in the Build <-- Open me in New Window! Potions will be as such: Hallowed Mana - Dispel Bleeding/Recharge on Crit Ruby Flask - Dispel Burn/Recharge on Crit Topaz Flask - Dispel Shock/Recharge on Crit Granite Flask - Curse Immune/Recharge on Crit Quicksilver - Move Speed/Recharge on Crit " Base Stats & Gem Breakdown Starting with the builds gem setup, a quick mention that pierce/lightpen should be used early game. I can't test it for a while but I think that pierce will be best while leveling and farming in docks for new leagues because it will help you clear faster. When you get into the big game and get to your 6L my idea is to use the new Empower gem to just bolster everything up without adding any more mana costs. Gem Slots & Macros <-- Open me in New Window! Level 35 Before Piety Gems in order of emergence, I recommend fire trap because freeze pulse is harder to sustain. Act 1 Quest Gems: Fire Trap, Raise Zombie, Bear Trap, Clarity, Fork. Act 2 Quest Gems: Lightning Trap, Power Charge On Critical. Act 3 Quest Gems: Critical Weakness, Lightning Penetration. ![]() 3L is the max requirement up to this stage but I suppose it could also be fun if you got 4L to have PONCrit. If you're feeling more adventurous you can trade for Fire Pen & Added Fire for the double 2L combo of Firetrap - Fire Pen & Bear Trap - Added Fire. Cruel Mode

Level 56 Before Piety We start by getting the extra 16% chaos resistance and all the nearby HP nodes then working the rest of the way towards Iron Reflexes to make sure our armour is nice and buff. Once you get a hold of Iron Reflex and your purity gem it should be smooth sailing. I'd use Aurseize gauntlets to help with resistances and item drops, it holds the gems nicely too GGRR. Gems in order of emergence: Act 1 Quest Gems: Grace, Multi Traps, Lightning Warp, Remote Mine. Act 2 Quest Gems: Faster Casting. Act 3 Quest Gems: Haste, Faster Casting. ![]() Gems buylist: Reduced Mana, Ice Spear, LMP, Fire Pen, Added Fire, Purity, Discipline, Temporal Chains, Projectile Weak, Conductivity, Summon Skelly, Spell Totem. Just grabbing all of these gems without quality is beneficial However, it is always nice to start crossing off end game items from your list of to do's :) Arctic Armour is an example of a gem you want to buy with 14%+ quality because the move speed is very useful and you don't really need to level it up very quickly anyway. " If anyone wants to crunch some of the numbers and leave some suggestions/comments please feel free to do so :) all in the process of fine tuning a good build. You don't take the second trap cluster? The trap laying speed could be useful?
Also, a trap focus would go nicely with dual or triple totem. Spork, arc or ice spear? |

Vaal Pact? Ghost Reaver? Pain Attunement? They are useless..
Pain Attunement works only if you're on low life, and being a CI meaan you're Always on full life Traps don't leech, o Vaal Pact and Ghost Reaver are useless. You can invest those nodes in more ES or crit chence |

" I don't think that the 2nd cluster is really necessary. The first ring of traps is useful mostly because of the +1 to traps and you get some extra speed from that to help things along. The cost of getting the 2nd ring is 6 more passive points, for those points you can invest into the whole ring of Anti-Status ailments, 70% More crit multiplier Or a whole side of extra ES%/Crit Chance. So that's why I opt to leave this out. In my tree I took anti status' because I like the idea of being immune to most things ^^ The crux in this build is the Total ES is low compared to other builds. 6500 is a long end game, before that this will be sitting at around 4-5K which is pretty low. That said I imagine that the build will have it's aces in surviving due to the wide range of defenses against all types of damage & being ranged behind a skelly totem with permanent temporal chains curse. Dual Totems is not really an option because the dual totem keystone is really too far away for a shadow to reach while maintaining this much survivability and crit chance. Soul mantle IMO is not really the best idea because you won't get enough ES/Resistance & then theres the drawback of curse reflect which can be a little annoying and sometimes dangerous. While leveling and maybe even in the endgame (Need to do more tests later) Ice spear is best to be used as a charger more than anything else. It also keeps you engaged more physically and makes playing feel more "active". |

Wondering if anyone has any information on how crits on traps behave. My question is - After the remote mine is placed, detonated and has thrown 3 traps, do each of the traps from then on perform a crit? or is the crit decided by the first mine layed on the ground.
