Freeze at Loading Screens [Solved]
Game Freezes at Loading Screens, producing NO Error message at all, sometimes error message:
"The ati2dvag display driver has stopped working normally..." [Solved by installing OLD graphic driver] [I also DOUBLED my FPS] by Re-installing my graphics card driver with Driver Sweeper program: http://www.guru3d.com/content_page/guru3d_driver_sweeper.html I used to have 0-20 FPS in a full Docks Party, now i have 8-50 FPS there. Reinstall and use Driver Sweeper if you have installed loads of graphics card drivers in the past, possibly causing you to crash and or have low FPS. 1)Use the official uninstaller(s) of the driver(s) you want to uninstall. 2)Reboot your PC in Safe Mode. 3)Run Driver Sweeper and select your display driver (ATI-Display & NVIDIA-Display) 4)Analyse lists all the entries possible to remove, cleaning removes the entries selected. 5)Restart the computer to Normal Mode. 6)Install your graphics card Driver. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Previous PROBLEM I HAD with Crashing Below) Freezes occur definitely in 6 man parties in around 5 minutes Freezes after prolonged game play around 3 hours with 1-2 party members System Information: Operating system: Windows XP 32 bit Processor: Pentium Dual Core CPU E6500 @2.93GHz Ram: 4 GB Graphic card: ATI Radeon HD5700 Series (Updated graphics driver) Motherboard: ASUS P5KPL/EPU (Updated Bios) Things I've tried but FAILED to solve the problem I spent $100 USD on to get 4 GiG ram shortcut command "D:\Games\Path of Exile\Client.exe" -gc 2 -swa Ran Pack Check: No problem Edited production_Config text file: texture_quality 2 Tried lower resolution: 1200x900 Switched off: shadows & antialiasing Checked Ram usage at time of freeze: 49% Checked Graphic Card temperature at time of freeze: 56° Checked Processor temperature at time of freeze: 42° Updated my graphic card driver Updated my bios Please help, I want to spend money in Path of Exile instead of buying a new PC. Sounds like your video driver is crashing. That would be confirmed by your error "The ati2dvag display driver has stopped working normally..."
I'd play around with your video settings more and see if you can get it to not crash. I don't know much about the AMD/ATI cards, so I can't really offer much insight other than disable tessellation and make sure mipmaps are set to high quality. Otherwise, check power profiles and play around in the settings. If you're already completely updated on your graphics drivers I'd maybe try a rollback to an older version and see if it makes a difference. But I'm fairly certain something with your graphics driver is crashing. |

Thank you very much Drakier for solving my crashes. I hope others will try installing older graphics card driver if they get the same error message.

" I can't quite tell if that was sarcastic, or you actually were able to resolve the problem with older graphics drivers... but if it was genuine and fixed it, congrats. It's not uncommon sadly for older drivers to sometimes work better than newer ones. |
