I'm not sure why but I find c*nt less offensive and detestable than 'gutter-slut'. Poor Clarissa didn't deserve that.


Probably a socioeconomic thing. Many successful people find "gutter, or ghetto, or poor" a very distinct insult.

It more than likely says more about you than it does about the comment itself. You can be a rich slut (Kim K, or Paris Hilton) and that should be no different than the local slut in my high school days. But in fact, it does make a difference to some.

However that does glaze over the original point. Clarissa is still a slut regardless of her background, noble or streetwise. She will always be "Clarissa from the block"
