The best dual wielding swordsman?

NOTE: Wasn't sure which forum to put this in, So it's here. If its wrong, i'd like to know for future discussions, and obviously feel free to move it to the correct sub-forum.

Alright, So I've played quite a bit of PoE in the last month or two since getting my beta access and buying a gold support pack.

Knowing my natural affinity in these games is towards solo PvE play entirely (with trading, helping others etc, but mainly progressing on my own), as well as a dual sword wielding melee char, I went for a Duelist build. (as mentioned here - http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/51635)

As part of the playing experience and hearing about other classes' experiences as well, And the thread about the fallacies of hybrid chars right now, I've opted to consult your opinions in the matter -

What is the best SOLO PVE dual wielding swordsman?

If possible, answer twice - which character type generally fits (Duelist, Shadow, Ranger etc) - And if you have a specific build in mind, detail that as well (Flicker strike crit build, Frenzy Evasion+IR build, etc).

This is important to me considering it will be the only char i'll probably play - That's just my style.

Interesting. The hike left to the Mara side for leechless and life leech always seemed a bit of a waste of points, but i guess the higher value life nodes might recompense.

Does seem a lot less DPS oriented, though. Not sure if enough for endgame.

as far as i know, in terms of dw, duelists and rangers tend to go swords, and for shadow you have the option of dw daggers or claws.

personally i've always preferred 1h+shield so i haven't had much experience in dw-ing although i have theory crafted on occasion

Berserking
Bravado
Lethal Blade
Dervish
Fencing
AMBIDEXTERITY!
+ various minor nodes+ the STR bonus
Dude, if thats lack of DPS... I'd talk about lack of life instead.

Interesting thread, this. I tend to just make a Shadow for everything, because I love his model and the voice, but I concede that he's probably not the best dual-wielding swordsman.

Duelist is definitively the best duelist and I like his style too, I used him before the shadow came out.
If I need a mage I use shadow, if I need a fighter I use duelist or templar, so Duelist best DW, the passives he gets are way too strong, it has immense dps.

Dual Wield Shadow with sword focus is easy and probably just as viable as Duelist (in terms of damage). The main difference is you will probably have a weaker mana pool and life leech. You'll have ridiculous critical damage though, especially if you use foils. Critical damage is really strong right now, so it's not a bad build to consider really.

Anything guys can do, girls can do better.

Plus, you have immediate access to 56% more HP, 50% more evasion and 22% more attack speed! Also, there's 2 gallantries and a razor's edge waiting for you! Weeeee!!!!

why go in the shadow part, is a waste of skill points, and you have way, WAY lesser damage for not picking up the gallantries etc., and no you don't have more hp, you miss the 2 12% and the 3 8% of the duelist, plus you have lesser STR so lesser hp and melee damage
