Crafting +1 Gem Level on a Bow

Hi guys,

I bought me a 6l bow and I'm trying to get +1 Gem Level on it.

1. I just wanted to make sure that I can get that affix on an ilvl 59 Bow.


2. Also I wonder what would make more sense, should I Alt it or Chaos.


3. Would an ilvl 75 Bow bear a higher chance on +1 Gem Level?


The prefix table says "+1 Gem Level" requires lvl 50.

Yes u can roll this bonus. Use alts. Its easy to get them, just grind alts. And no 75 lvl bow would have the same chance .

Does anyone know how to calculate the chance to get RRRGBB on that Bow?
One green slot currently is useless for my build.

it will be hard because that bow is a dex based weapon. It's possible, but it will take a shitload of chroms to make it happen and I'm not talking like 40-50. You are looking at hundreds.

It took me approx 800 chroms to hit RRBBBG
I hit RRRBBG once in the process to get my colours.

I dont know if i was lucky or unlucky but thats what it took me

If it's really 1/10 to hit an off color I think it's


(1/20)^2*(1/20)^2*(9/10)^2*(6!/(2!*2!*2!)) ~ 0,000045


So it would take a good 2000 Chromes in average.

Can anyone confirm that off colors are independantly rolled @1/10?

put a culling strike in the 2nd green slot, increases the bear trap damage

Something to consider is empower instead of fire pen, since your bow is already +1 gems even a level 1 empower is useful!

edit: at level 1, empower versus fire pen is tricky to tell whats better, but at level 2 empower it should be empower handily.
