Who wrote all of this fantastic lore?
So I finally browsed the PoE wiki for something other than gem quality stats, and got to the monster and boss pages.
Holy cow. There's paragraphs and paragraphs about each monster, and whole short stories about the bosses. Even many of the skills have an explanation of their origin. My favourite is the story of Merveil, which I can imagine as a short film, or an in-game animated comic narrated by Nessa. Who wrote all of this? I don't see a story writer credited on the GGG site. |

I was actually really impressed with Merveil's story as well! I read it, and hillock's story, on the monster descriptions section on this site. Whoever is writing this lore, keep it up, it's really interesting! :)

The lore in the monster/act areas is indeed my writing, though in all honesty, it's quite a bit out of date at this point :)
At some future date, I plan to go back and revamp a bunch of things to fit the current state of the game. I also plan to expand the lore beyond Act 1. I really do appreciate all the positive feedback though, it's great encouragement to do more writing! |

" Yea, keep up the good work. Thing I love more than anything in a game, is a game with a damn good story and background lore. Love what you are doin mate. "Minions of your minions are your minion's minions, not your minions." - Mark

100%. Brian's writing talent extends well beyond a four-line poem for a bow (but that's still awesome!). I spent a few days at work, before I could get a key, reading all the areas' and monster' pages and marveling at how fresh it all felt, and how passionately it was written. I wondered if the game would actually live up to it. I'm still on the fence there, actually, but I suppose it might be a bit like a 'bible' (in writer terms) -- a lot of background stuff not necessarily meant for public consumption. Best example would be the Silmarillion.
I am sort of sad so much great writing is buried on this site, but I understand incorporating that much lore/writing into the game could be tough. If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

" I have not, I have some quality testing to do on a couple of servers tonight so I think it's going to be quite the delight to read while waiting :D I'll have to get started on it! Which begs to question, lore items in game - pieces you could collect - would be a nice addition :P |
