Necro Witch vs Necro Shadow
The Shadow seems to be the clear choice in making a Necro/Summoner. The Witch just cant do enough damage while the horde is running around and having to CONSTANTLY summon new pets hurts that concept even more. The shadow on the other had starts incredibly closer to the keystone for summoning making them tougher and more viable. The shadow has a higher capacity for dealing damage in the short time while the summons are alive before you have to make more. This is bothersome as lore-wise the witch should be the better at using undead but it just isn't the case with ability placements and alternate damage output.
Perhaps if the stats of the summons were affected by INT and/or moving the passive skills related to it further from the shadow starting point. Using Minion instability, minion health support, minion damage support plus minion hp/damage nodes should be more than sufficient. Damage auras are a must for mid to late game for the minions defense and offense. Minions dying too much? Add minion life support. Still dying too much? Then the gem is either under leveled, or you are in end game, which is supposed to be hard anyway. " If INT effected minions, there would have to be a considerable rework to avoid them being OP. Shadow is already far enough away. Zombies already had hp nerfed and armour to supplement it. Skeles and Spectres both buffed in HP department. Spectres damage buffed considerably. Good to see that a forum member of one day is already making negative posts about one set build. Play the game more. Either that, or I just spent the last 10 mins replying to a troll. Well, I would argue that Shadows aren't exactly suited for Summons, since none of their starting passives are good for them. You're trying to shoe-horn a build that is best suited for a Templar or a Witch into another class.
Secondly, with the right support gems (like added melee damage and faster attacks), you don't even need minion instability. My Keystone Ideas: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/744282

Thank you guys for the feedback, I was told that from another player who got me into the game. With this I am satisfied and feel justified in my choice of witch but now need to rebuild the character.
