Stereo sounds messed up in .12g
|
The latest patch seems to have changed something about stereo sound, and for ranged characters it's really really annoying.
Pretty much any sound effect that does not occur right on top of my character, only plays in one ear of my headphones. I assume the sounds should only be moving to the left or right end slightly to give a sense of directions, but that's currently completely off; on the majority of the screen, it's either all left or all right. Playing with headphones is just really annoying now, hope this can be fixed soon. | |

I'm experiencing the same problem, but I've also encountered another audio issue with this patch: I'm getting random popping and cracking at times and other odd distortions with sound effects.

|
I only got a crackle once when exiting the game.

Yeah, just came into work this morning and noticed this popping and crackling, also it does seem like stereo panning is a little more extreme (though maybe Im imagining the latter)
Jonathan is working on some audio stuff at the moment (new tech) it probably has something to do with that. The audio guy.

Hi guys. I just found the source of the clicking problems. We will deploy a patch for this ASAP. I'm going to now investigate the stereo separation issue to try and get it like how it was before.

Thank You Jonathan..."new" stereo separation was making me crazy, it's just too extreme, it's either left speaker or right speaker and the worst part is my cleave is in the middle and hit sounds are in the middle then mob just dies on far L or R speaker O.o

I'm still getting odd pops/cracks randomly on sound effects with .12h.
|
|
|
I'm also still getting the crackling.

Where are you when this popping/cracking is happening? Or is it just everywhere?
Please note that due to some of the limitations we currently have with audio loops, anything that involves ground fire and also the poison arrow effect may cause clicks. (also does the stereo panning feel better?) The audio guy.
