Can't Change Texture quality?

I can't change my texture quality. I have A GTX 650ti. I have a pretty high end rig, but I can't set texture quality to high or low. And my roommate who plays on the same server and everything with lower specs can. I don't know why I can't? Does anyone else have this issue?

" Do you have a 32-bit operating system? If so, the options were disabled in 32-bit to prevent crashing that was occurring when people with 32-bit selected "High" textures. The "High" textures aren't actually as much of a problem for your video card as it is your RAM. If you have 32-bit windows, then you can only address around 3.5GB of memory. That include Video memory and other things as well. With High textures set, PoE can take up a LOT of RAM and this was causing crashing. If you want to enable it anyway, you can manually edit the production_Config.ini in the My Documents\My Games\Path of Exile folder and set the texture_quality line to 0. 0 = high, 1 = medium and it just keeps going down from there. IF you want low, you can do 2 or 3, or if you want REALLY low, you can do 4, 5, 6, etc. The higher you go, the worse it gets (up to a limit). |

Thank you! I do have a 32bit OS, but I didn't know it was specifically disabled for that reason. Again, thanks for your help.

I too have a question regarding texture quality not changing. I'm trying to change it to a higher number to increase framerates but its not working when I save and then open the game. I've tried several times but I don't know why it's not working. Anyone please help?

Same problem
AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS 16GB, DDR5, 512GB, SSD 64-bit system, the solution above does not help. Texture settings do not change. Can you suggest any working solutions? |
