vendor for skill gems....when GGG?
|
It's really stupid that you need 2 skill gems and you find out that you don't have them so you have to either spam chat with those skill gems or pray and pray and pray that you find them in the next 20 maps or so "if you found them"
Things like skills should be sold via a vendor. FFA loot = Single Player Game

Why should they be so easily obtainable? If the design is to obtain skills via drops, why would you want something so easy?
To me, you're supposed to go out into the world and, essentially "learn" the skill(via random drop, it's contrived, but required). It's not really part of the lore/game to have the skills readily avaiable at a vendor. Veteran ARPGer but not very good with the number crunchin'. Currently maining a Witch and I want a male version!

" How about we remove also the ability to buy fusing orbs and jeweler orbs and make them drop only? How about town portals and wisdom scrolls to be removed and make them drop only? FFA loot = Single Player Game

Maybe instead of answering with questions, you can present your response in something that's far more tangible.

" The idea is that you can't play the game with out things like wisdom scrolls or portals so they are sold at vendors. Also you can't play without skills. Now regarding drops it should apply only for gear or currency items because when you get gear and orbs you can remodel the gear to your licking. Skills should not be a part of RNG system. FFA loot = Single Player Game

You could play without Town Portals. It'd just be a very long walk. Town Portals are for convenience
Wisdom Scrolls are a currency. While I understand why you believe skills shouldn't be a part of RNG, I do not think(for PoE) that skills should just be readily available at a vendor. Veteran ARPGer but not very good with the number crunchin'. Currently maining a Witch and I want a male version!

Maybe GGG can make a gem recipe...
3 gems + a currency = a spell type/aura type/support type gem. what kind of gem depends on the currency that was used. What you get is a random gem of course. Also 3 of the same color gem to make a certain color gem. also a recipe for 3 different color gems and an expensive currency for a gem of a random type and color =] I think that's good. " For the most part, skills aren't left up to RNG. You're offered a majority of the skill gems necessary to builds as you level your character through quest rewards. If skill gems were sold at the vendors, they would have little to no value in the game. As it stands, anyone playing the game for a decent amount of time will have plenty of extra skill gems simply from leveling up their various characters. I see no problem with the availability of gems at the moment. Edit: I do like the poster above's idea though. Having to vendor multiple skill gems + a particular currency for specific skill gems could work. If history is to change, let it change! If the world is to be destroyed, so be it! If my fate is to be destroyed... I must simply laugh! Last edited by Lazerus#7827 on Sep 16, 2012, 5:41:02 PM
