Cyclone+Multistrike=your cyclone will bounce around like a pinball in a machine, you will not be able to select a new path until the maximum number of hits has been reached. not really sure what that # is, things die really fast lol. it's awesome in normal where you can just clip something with cyclone once then watch your guy bounce all over the mob and kill everything while you have a sip of water lol. in higher difficulties i wouldnt link these though, loss of precision=death

also sometimes when cycloning, if a mob is right above your character (like, in between your character in the center, and the top middle of your screen) sometimes you can actually just hold down your cyclone hotkey, and you will actually zigzag back and forth over the enemy without any new inputs. ive only been able to replicate this a few times, for some reason it seems to work only against undead-class mobs?

the last one is double strike+multistrike, though this may be 'working as intended'. if you doublestrike a mob and it dies, and theres another one next to it, you actually expend the remaining strikes onto the next mob. kind of interesting how it gets an 'aoe' type effect even when you don't have any aoe gems linked. >.>


sorry for wall of text, this duelist is the most fun ive ever had playing the game so im excited to talk to someone about it :D



Couple things.

First part, you are desyncing, your character on the server is still cycloning around while you are standing there. I've casted other abilities while it's going, almost feels like you are doing two things at once, but don't think it works that way.

Its 3 attacks with multistrike, so it will go to where you click, and then two more randomly selected locations, obviously hitting many many times during.

You can usually hold cyclone down right on a mob and it will keep cycloning them till they are dead. Any mob. Usually I prefer to click behind them, as sometimes you won't cyclone if too close.

Multistrike hits all targets around you one at a time randomly, so that other one is dead and it still has 1-2 attacks it's going to hit the other one that is by you.
cool, thanks for clearing that up. im almost lv51 so i can equip Terminus Est, rushing more life nodes because in act 3 cruel, the fun and games are over and i need health to back up my retarded damage :3 kinda scared for merciless though, lol.

I'm trying out this build atm, and it feels like I'm playing Garen aka SpinToWin - cyclone is the only skill i can link hp/hit to atm, so it's vital to use it against bosses like kole. Hope it'd be better later on though.
You could use this build with the unique that prevents freezing right? To prevent any kind of locking at all.
my evasion is so high i only insta rip sometimes

People were using cyclone for actual melee builds, so we nerfed it and made blade vortex. Also, we went ahead and made cyclone great for CoC casters while we were at it.

if you use a single target spell like doublestrike or heavy strike with life leech and you have enough armor/life or granite flasks you can tank a boss while your life leech tops you off. but since life leech is delayed and LGOH is instant (and procs rapidly with cyclone) i generally stay on the move with Cyclone, which is better at defending against burst damage.

Freeze can be dispelled with the right potion, i wouldnt rely on a unique (i cant think of any uniques that prevent freeze that simultaneously offer the stats you want on a 2h melee toon)

mana, cold resist, and can't be frozen. a good prismatic ring will give you 20% to all resists, 70 life, attack speed, bonus dmg etc. imo, being frozen isnt a big enough threat to pass up what a rare ring can give you for a DF.

i mean if you're really worried about freeze and you can get away with using it, go for it...but at 77% resists and 3.7k life (not even that good) i almost never get frozen, and when i do, even in a 6 player party while tanking an entire mob, i can still survive. and my armor is only like 7k... XD
