Any item restriction?

We need more specific rules

I hope I will be able to participate.

Need several rules about:
1) potion usage (allowed/disallowed). +3k armour is huge difference
2) item swapping during fight (from inventory), allowed or not
3) build limitations, disallowed skills (or none); does something like bear-traps-everywhere-and-run-forest-run-until-traps-renew is legal
4) minions usage during duels
5) permafreezing (not sure if it works in pvp, stun does not for example)
6) camping behind totems, totems usage in general
7) puncture usage (could be same OP as slow in D2)

This for start.

PS I have several years of pvp experience from tournaments in Ultima Online and Diablo 2, if you'd need any knowhow/organisation help PM me.

No restrictions whatsoever. Honestly I don't know the pvp world of POE well enough to set such rules. I'm only doing this because the pvp is dead, and it shouldn't be. It's a deep and diverse world, and it goes unused.

What I'd really like to see is a GM step in to make it 100% scam proof, so people would feel comfortable joining.

But we have a few days, I'd like to hear thoughts on rules/restrictions for the event. If there's a strong desire for certain ones, they can be added.

As for registration, just pm me in-game, Shinso (alt 189 is the o I beleive), or Gleip_Frog/Gliepnier. If I'm on I can usually be seen rambling on in general.

For what it's worth, the OP was chatting about this a little in global a couple hours ago. So it's a little less likely to just be a ruse of some sort (ign was AncestralWaves if you remember me Gleip).

Also, in regards to spectating 1v1s by going 3v3, you're better off using Caustic Potions to kill yourself immediately then spectating, which'd also mean that Arc wouldn't start fucking up by chaining off you and all. And idk if player kills also give flask charges in pvp, that could fuck with shit if the other player kills you after a round. Or you could just make sure someone streams/records or something.

In regards to pvp balance that Evantis was talking about:

idk about Granites, but given 'rush with leap slam/flicker' is a big thing (especially with that level 27 unique 2H) having a counter to that'd be nice.

Freeze can be countered by both Wanderlust and Dream Fragments (alright Dream Fragments is a bit expensive and all, but Wanderlust ain't too bad) as well as pots. That said, with 700 life you need to deal 21 cold damage to freeze for the minimum duration, 300ms, and unmodified level 28 Ice Spear averages 35 damage before crit multiplier comes in. So I guess it's going to be something you really need to build around then. But yeah, can't exactly ban an element.

Item-swapping during the fight I'm kinda against because we don't need to stack the deck even more in favour of people with currency to throw around, as well as it kinda negating the idea of going for builds when the best plan is 'stack defense then equip what gear you need for your "build"'.

Minions are part of the game and all. No harm using them.

Totems are another part. Can't think of any incredibly powerful totem builds for pvp off the top of my head though. And Flicker would fuck with the zoning advantage.

Puncture would fuck over ES builds, but you've still got pots and all. That said, puncture's still kinda 'eh'.


Anyway, seems like an interesting idea. Might get some use out of that level 28 5L bow I have.

Edit: Actually going to just use righteous fire.

Tested out a stream to see if my internet/pc could handle it. It doesn't stay up long, and even then it's the worst possible quality. I should be able to afford a better system before too terribly long. By the time I do, the tourneys should have gained a solid reputation, and maybe we can have a 1 exalt buy in tourney to celebrate being able to stream =D.

But for now, no dice.
