Question about spectre and Giant gladiator statue

The specific monster in talking about is the giant male and female ones that wields the spear. I've notice that they sometimes use a skill where they throw the spear and then afterwards have to fight with their bare hands.

If you raise them as a spect afterwards then they regain their spear but only for a short period until they "throw" it again.

My question is, do their dmg decrease after doing so?
Reason for this question is that there are also giant gladiator statues that wield a sword who don't "throw" it away.
