Reduced Attribute Requirements

Question :

Is the prefix/suffix "32% Reduced Attribute Requirements" a global reduction for the wearer? Or just on the gems socketed within the item?

Does it stack if we have two items with this affix?

Thanks

It only applies to the item itself, not even the gems socketed in the item.
Shadow : Covenant Pulser (504561)
Ranger : 12 charges Frenzy Archer (65154), Dual Claws Elemental ST (709126)
Witch : Self-Cast Arc Tanky Witch (770185), AoF EK/Bear trap (863970)
Templar : Frenzy + AB/Fireball "Cast on Crit" Wander (611200)
Marauder : Death Oath Staff User (498864)
Sorry to necro this thread, but does anyone know what the calculation of RAR is, because I can´t seem to get the same numbers?

I'm wearing

Which requires 71 str and 71 int for the base item without the RAR (Wiki is correct). With the 18% RAR it's 57.

71 * 0.82 = 58.22 not 57
71 / 1.18 = 60.17 not 57

Other calculations give the same results. Now you may say who cares, but I'm using

So I want to be sure that I'm not wasting stats or passives for trying to equip my

at level 20, which requires 151 str. If my calculations are off because of percentages, that could be important :).

So what's going on!?

Any math magic at work here or simply me being stupid?

Im inclined to say that the error with the shield is a rounding/truncating error in the games math... but thats a guess. It is rather odd.

As far as the ammy, getting tiny amounts of str to be perfectly efficient is difficult and expensive usually. Youd have to have specific numbers on gear or get lucky with the reduction being a multiple of 10, even then most builds end up well over any requirement. I wouldnt sweat trying to get it perfect unless its costing you more than 1-2 passive points to get it high enough. Since i dont know your tree I cant begin to offer help but if youd like to post it ill take a look.

Also, you may in the future wish to take that ammy off, so specing with it on can make removing it for a much better ammy very hard on you. IMO - youre better off specing(planning) for the 151 str and letting the reduction be incidental until youre getting to the point of taking it off.

Thanks for the tip!

Removed last bit, because I was mistaken, the passives screen can not report on requirements of things you aren't wearing ofcourse, so that is just an artefact of using the amulet (you can use certain items with Atziri, but the passives screen says otherwise).

So I'm still not out on this one.

Let's say the 18% is actually 18.49 rounded down (but are mods rounded off values of ranges??), then it still wouldn't add up, unless the 71 str/int requirement on the shield is also actually 70.5, which makes no sense for GGG to do.

71 * 0.8151 = 57.87
70.5 * 0.8151 = 57.46 (w00t!)
