Melee Ranger
Evade 66%
Dodge 25% Spell Dodge 20% Block 30% 1110 HP 469 Mana What can I do to impove on this build? Did i take too much evasion? I actually want to attain the highest Evasion rating possible but I don't know if the nodes stop giving full bonuses after awhile or not. Evasion, like armor, scales with level and %. Higher evasion rates means requiring more evasion to get the next % of evasion.
Also, you may want to stack more HP if you are going to stick with Acrobatics. Buffer your survival in case mobs get a lucky string of attacks through your evasion/dodge. There may even be some mob combinations that can do 1k+ dmg in 1 attack against someone with 0 armor. |

I'd use the skill refounds to get rid of mana nodes, acrobatics and phase acrobatics, and go for iron reflexes and blood magic.
Acrobatics is meant for ranged/kite characters. In melee you can't expect not to be hit. IMO. "The harder the game, the better." Last edited by Vold316#0180 on Aug 28, 2012, 1:21:39 AM

Well, my melee ranger is quite different from your build, so I can't really comment much other than getting more life into your build and get more damage into axes. Why you went axes is a little strange to me, but they do more damage than rapiers, that's for sure. (Sick chest armor btw)
Two things I can point out. You can reach a +12% life node with 3 +0.5% life regen nodes in the center area very near the place where you picked the Might notable. Once you pick more life (the 3 +8% life nodes and the +0.5% life regen node), you should probably think about getting some more damage into your build. Hopefully your resists are over 40%. I like Axes :P
I am going to totally get rid of phase all the way to that T (10 nodes) and get iron reflexes. Not sure about getting blood magic yet. I'm a little dissappointed though because I wanted to make a melee character that avoided most attacks and could actually take some damage like a samurai(with axes:P) or something. Currently I have 16074 evasion rating so once I get Iron reflexes I should have a really high damage reduction %. Does anyone know how I can convert this to actually know? Does anyone know the max evasion % as well? From when I posted I boosted it to 70% chance to evade and am still getting destroyed. They need glancing blows or stealth skills or give you damage reduction bonuses with health or something. Something to make melee evader more viable. Pretty dissappointed I couldn't get this to work especially with 70% chance to evade. Leaves are falling all around, It's time I was on my way.

If you still wanna play a Samurai, i've made my own version.
It's Duelist tho. Didn't take iron reflexes, but you can take it if it has problems surviving. But, i think that a combination of both armor and evasion is better sometimes, because armor isn't so good against massive blows. It should deal massive fire damage with 2h sword (too bad there are no katanas). :P I'll see how it goes and if you are still intrested i'll let you know. :D "The harder the game, the better." What I would like to know is , can you actually play Ranger with 2 Daggers , and can he have the same abilities as Shadow? Like Stealth / Dash and everything else? That would be amazing.

" The main things that change with different classes is where you start on the tree and what rewards you get from quests. It may take longer to get the melee skills you want as a ranger because of all of the ranged ability rewards and it may take longer to get to the melee passives you want, but it can be done. |

I'd go with this build if I wanted to be an axe ranger.
evasion is shit and hard to pull of even if you are ranged, when you are up close u need dmg reduction - get the IR and forget Acrobatics. With nice eva passives and your gear you will have 60% or more dmg reduction - you will feel better against multiple mobs, trust me - I took away some of your eva passives coz I think thy are an overshot since the dmg reduction is not liner - with 15k eva you will have 63% red, with 25k you will have 68% reduction (just shooting numbers but you get the point) - not worth it imo - stick with 60% and you will be fine the rest you invest in life and dps. get as much life a you can and forget int and mana they are for casters, go all in BM, you wont be disappointed - I myself respected to BM three days ago and I am very satisfied for several reasons: -I have 3k life and I had 350 mana - I have much more fire power when I use life. -life leech is much more easier than mana leech since there are two gems for life leech (life leech and life gain on hit) and only one for mana. When I combine the two I get 4% life leech and 25 life gain per hit - when I hit I do not lose life I gain it even tho I spend it to hit. Take golem blood, 2% life recovery per sec and see how fast your life recharges - on "players take xy amount of chaos dmg" maps your health will not drop. take Unwavering stance - lose 5% eva and gain a shitload - when multiple mobs are hitting you,you just click away and walk away instantly or continue hitting them without being stunned. Ranger has nice melee passives close at hand why go away when they are right there. at least my point of view what you get: str 144 290 dex int 14 122% eva 118% live 24% armor 2% life regen/sec BM IR 10% additional block chance 50% increased eva from shield 8% move speed 47% ias for one hand axes 28% accuracy rating with axes 109% mele phys dmg 30% ele dmg cannot be stunned I realize I spent some 13-15 skill points than you - just forget the 8% speed and ele dmg for now and get that later - that should do it items shop: 364086 ign: [ICU]missuse if you like to HLD, add me inactive in game atm, PM me if you need something.
