Shift Key Suddenly Stopped Working

My shift key randomly stopped working and no longer holds my character in place when attacking. As you can see, my SHIFT key works just fine. I have restarted the game, rebooted my computer, and searched the net for solutions but didn't come up with anything but people making suggestions for changes to the system or the issue with it causing that annoying beeping. I also seemed unable to attack the monsters any more once this issue began. Please help, as it's pretty difficult to play a bow character without this function. I was not able to reassign the hotkey, either, not that I want to do that. It wouldn't let me save any changes I tried to make. Thank you for your assistance! :)

All right, I reset everything in game to default, which was annoying... but it did allow me to save the settings that way. Anyway, that seems to have fixed it. I've had my keyboard and mouse stop working *entirely* in game out of nowhere before, but not one specific key. Weird. Anyway, fixed. Looked for a way to delete this post but I don't see one, so sorry.

Hi JenesisX,

Glad to see this came right for you. Would you mind if we left the thread hanging around in case someone else encounters the same issue?
Hi,

the same thing happened to me right now and so far I was not able to fix it. I cannot shoot (not even clicking by left-hand button shoots), the only way I can fight now is by pressing right mouse button...
Redefinition of 'shift' or choosing default controls which I had before did not help...

Today I encountered a SHIFT key problem which may be related.
While running through Crematorium with my ranger, I suddenly got stuck in place and could only shoot with the mouse key but no longer move about, though I could move using the 'move only' key (mapped to my middle mouse button).
I checked if I accidentally had pressed CAPS-LOCK but it wasn't activated.
If have mapped the SHIFT key to the NUMPAD 5, because I am using the mouse lefthanded, so accidentally presssing CAPS-LOCK is rather unlikely for me.
But after deliberately doing so, I could move again as normal.
I switched CAPS-LOCK on/off in-game twice and it defaulted back to standard behaviour.
This is the 1st time that happened to me and I have not altered my keyboard since OB and also not updated the USB-HID drivers since then.
Hello. I had the same problem. But it was only this... my hotkey (LMB) was changed to "only walk", not as "default attack" as it should be. You can see the different icon on the right menu for hotkeys... I hope it would help to any new players in the game.
