Spam Chaos or spam Alteration?

Trying to roll this wand. Just want like, Spell Damage, Spell crit and maybe Mana Regen.
I have used atleast 150 Alteration's on it, I have seen 100+ Spell crit many time's. I can't seem to get a Spell Damage prefix tho, the only one I got was lastnight and it was only 44%.
So, should I just alch and spam Chaos or keep grinding Alteration's?
The itemlevel is 79.

you would want cast speed too. As long as you don't want to eternal+exalt it after using regret I would go with chaoses and hope for the lucky roll. You should count on 100-150 chaoses at least I would say.

Eternal+Exalt is WAY out of my price range. I got 1 Exalt(that I found lastnight :O)
So basically what I should go is find a God and start praying while I spend every last drop of my currency?

Your best bet with wands, don't craft them. Buy one with the currency instead. I would also recommend wasting choas on only the highest ilvl items, I hope that wand is a 79+ ilvl so it can get all the best affixes.

Instead of spamming alterations / chaos orbs, I have a weapon in my stash and I just use alterations as i find them. no keeping count or anything. Eventually i know it will get the stats I want and then ill regal it.

79 is the highest wand ilvl. You can obtain ilvl 100 items from races.

I think the alteration route is best served if you have ridiculous amounts of currency or if you're looking to make a peace of gear that will last a life time.

Chaos if you're all ok with a very decent roll.
Alteration if you want a godly piece.

Its all a risk though and a fun one to take :D

Dude dont waste currency on crafting .. Only RMT users can afford to do REAL crafting in this game. Making 1 good piece of gear can cost even 10-20 exalts so its pointless while ppl sell them for 1-2 exalts.
Save up and buy wand. Ive got 90% spell dmg and 87% crit with l res and mana regen for 3 gcp.. And now you have put more in this white one while you could have nice medicore item.

When you will have all you could Dream about then you can start crafting for fun or profit, but thats just mine opinion.
