Homm3

Haha, it does take ages :) We will have to have a game next time you come over!

Best heroes is 3, only 3.
They should make the next Heroes in 2d and just focus on nice artstyle. It's way too confusing in 3d.

Best hot seat game ever. Almost a spiritual successor to another great, SSG's Warlords and Warlords 2.

The wife and I used to burn a weekend on Homm3.

There's a boardgame called Mage Knight that is pretty much a tabletop distillation of HOMM3.

Sad truth: Might and Magic is heading into the 'free to play online collectible card game' direction. Sad. Sad. Sad.

Once Might and Magic became property of Ubisoft it rapidly went downhill. I basically don't even consider it Might and Magic anymore.

I've also never played Mage Knight but I own a lot of the figures and use them when I play Pathfinder and such.

Heroes 4 is decent. Heroes 2 was the best before 3 came out.

Agreed but I don't think there can be a better Heroes than 3, ever. Some games have taken a certain approach to the max and don't need sequels IMO, like HoMM3 and Diablo2 for example.

My main issue with the newer Heroes games isn't really the art style(Although I prefer 2d more). It is just that they move ungodly slow. They also removed a lot of the tactical depth that the original games had. It also lacked a good amount of scenarios to play. Campaign modes don't do it for me in games like that. I always liked that I could open up Heroes 3 and have literally 100s of included scenarios to play.

The art style is fine I guess. I just think the art style would be improved on 2d graphics. I haven't played Homm6 though, but 5 was a bit too confusing to my liking. I have read that homm6 have left the city screen, which is very disappointing - that was so charming :P

We can always hope for a next gen recreation of Heroes 3 in 2D.
There's a reason Heroes of Might and Magic 3 has a perfect score on good old games out of nearly 6,000 reviews.

I spent hundreds if not thousands of hours on the HOMM3 both single player, MPlayer, and hotseat. A good chunk of my friends played it as much as I.

It's one of the best highlights of gaming history for me.

HOMM2 had better music (who can forget the castle opera from HOMM2 with actual singers off the CD), but HOMM3 beat HOMM2 in every other way - which was quite a feat because HOMM2 was excellent as well.
yea i play this shit since 98. But haven't played much in last 1 year.

Check out a map called wayfarer if you want a long, epic and difficult journey.
