Laucher "Error!"

Hiya, having trouble with launching POE. I usually play on this laptop and its never been a problem before.

Basically I open launcher and I get 2 things come up; The launcher saying checking resources and a separate "Error!" message, it says: "unable to get write access to file content.ggpk. You might have another copy of the game already running or the directory may be read only".

The directory is read only, but I cannot change it, as every time I do so and close the window, it becomes read only again. However like I said its never had a problem launching before.

I've googled it and found a few similar threads but the only help has been "restart your computer" which unfortunately hasn't fixed the problem :(

Thanks in advance for your help.

Edit: I ran program as admin and its working now, no longer any error message. Still bizarre this hasn't happened before.

You can right click that icon and set it to run as ADMIN everytime.

The problem is the Security settings of either Windows or your Antivirus program.
OS: WinXP SP2 32bit
CPU: Athlon 64 X2 3800+
Ram : 4GB Kingston PC2-6400 5-5-5-18
Mobo: Abit KN9-Sli (NF570-Sli chipset with Realtek Audio)
GPU: ATI HD4670 1GB
HD: Maxtor 20GB - OS - Seagate 500GB - Games / Storage / PageFile
Network / ISP: Wired / Cox Cable
Looks like some other program decided to grab a file handler lock for that file.

Tried rebooting? ;)

Update: Oh, I see you have. Then... yeah... try to figure out which program is locking that file.

Here's a program that will let you see just that:

I'd suspect anti-virus. The entire idea of running a memory resident anti-virus program seems crazy to me. You're effectively running a virus that may prevent other viruses... or not. ;) I think people would be better off by simply not installing viruses on their home computers in the first place. Just sandbox your browser, and don't use internet explorer. You can go ahead and disable windows firewall if you have a decent router, too. Works for me... virus-free since 2008.

Continuing the subject... Anyone else think that viruses are now created mostly by companies that sell virus-removal software? (case in point: blackjack modified to exclude IBM computers when IBM still marketed IBM AntiVirus) Conspiracy theory... I know... but... Anyone remember back in the day when viruses were actually COOL? I actually got hit with the Whale virus, and thought it was clever. They had cool names, too... because hackers saw viruses as a means of self-expression. They wanted to take credit for their work. Now, the names are largely unmemorable... no one cares.
