The Best 5 Node Cluster In The Tree!
|
Flat values don't really belong in the passive tree. This include life on hit and life/mana on kill. Both types suffer from being balanced (somewhat) for early-game play... if you get them early they're quite good (but who cares, because the content isn't hard yet), but by level 60 they're utter crap.
Getting x% of your maximum life/mana on kill would make a lot more sense. As far as the notable goes... a new skill should actually damage enemy mana, at least one new monster type in Act 3.5 should use said skill, and that notable should also prevent said mana damage. That would make that node interesting from both a PvP and PvE perspective. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted. The 1% life leech is actually alright for only 2 points but the rest is garbage.

Theoretically the inability to leech mana and life from you could have devastating potential in PvP but due to the heavy point investment needed to get there, Low Level Duels will almost never see said nodes being picked up.
I like the concept of it as its designed for a specific niche, but currently it isn't ideally placed for said niche. |

"doesnt help theres a 2% life leech node a bit down the tree on the way to the outside circle AKA the autobahn of poe |

Except it means that you can get 3% leech total from the tree itself, and combined with maybe a low leech roll on jewellery, you can choose not to use Life Leech and etc.
Just food for thought. |

"true. I agree that in context of the keystone of that cluster being enemies cannot leech mana, 1% leech sounds pretty good |
|
" Not really. Cannot leech life, yes. Devastatingly powerful in PVP and any serious PVP character is obviously going to try to get bloodless. Cannot leech mana? This is much, much less important. Most PVP characters have self-sustaining mana costs, and with full regen and the availability of mana potions, there's no well built PVP character that should depend on mana leech to sustain their skills. It's a pretty useless node, and probably the worst notable in the game. |
|
" On that I would agree. I would much prefer to see it changed to people taking damage equivalent to the amount they are leeching. Now THAT would be cool for PvP. |

I can't believe I saw your thread and asked myself whether it was serious or sarcastic. I mean I should have known the answer right?
I never gave these nodes two glances because their so bad. You must have been bored to make a thread about it lol. Standard Forever
