Power Charge on Crit + Tempest Shield
" a fair point but i'd prefer not to rely on a resource that was not well maintained before the 1.0.0 patch and game launch, seriously it was months out of date on some things and is incorrect on the bandit respec recipes(unless they have updated it in the last week or so) Ancestral Bond. The TS page links to a copy of the patch notes right where it provides that bit of information, which also links back to the patch notes on the forum. :)

" Yes, it has problems. But for a lazy search, its not the worst. If every skill thread here would contain a continously updated 1st post with patch notes, this would be less of an issue. | |
thx dudes,
i actually read that patch notes, but i find the info "can now generate more than onbe charge per skill use" very unsatisfying, was looking for someone who maybe tried it out and can tell me if it really works properly =) |

" tbh it's not ideal, for one you need to block the attack to begin with and on that block your tempest shield needs to crit so you would need a seriously specialized build to get it working well. Ancestral Bond. It's a thing that does stuff. -Vipermagi

" I am using it since months, i can confirm. With max block (75%) (spellblock almost mandatory) minimum ~30% Tempest Shield crit chance (before power charges) and lvl20 PCoC non-quality gem (49%) = 0,75*0,3*0,49 = ~12% chance to gain a charge. every ~8th hit you take will generate a charge. with max level and max quality PCoC gem (69%) more crit chance for Tempest Shield (40% doesnt need really big sacrifce either) = 0,75*0,4*0,7 = ~20% chance to gain a charge. every ~5th hit you take will generate a charge. For a tanky character, taking 5-10 smaller hits shouldnt be problem. (of course these numbers change if you avoid the initial hit, but since its a block build that should never happen) Against quick enemies it works fairly well with these numbers. (Specific mobs, like tittybitches or a dog pack in Docks will give 4-5 charges almost instantly. And even the subpar Tempest Shield damage can kill them alone.) Against slow big hitters (Vaal, Kole & such), there is basically 0 advantage from this. Last edited by acu#2725 on Dec 15, 2013, 9:11:39 AM
