Die during boss = loss?
That's how it was in Diablo 2 (the part about lying dead on the ground). But it's just bad and makes no sense?
It's not that easy to find a perfect solution, if there is one. Just let everyone in the group complete the quest? Boosting while staying in town will be made possible. That's how it is in Diablo 3 and people abused it to level extremly fast while getting XP from quest rewards until it was nerfed. There will always be some cheesy ways or people who stay in the back doin' nothing while you're killing the big guy. Don't getting any reward just because you died and your party doesn't bother to help you in any way sucks, too. "@mfqxCdudknodq".map(_ + 1 toChar)

" Do quests in POE even give XP? I read somewhere you have to be within a few levels of the monster to get decent XP, and if you have a higher level character running a lower level through and area it doesn't belong, the lower level gets much less XP, almost making it pointless. (maybe I misunderstood). This seems to address the, come on in and die while I kill stuff for you issue. Players of appropriate level staying dead miss out on loot, seems a fair trade IMO. |

The abuse issue isn't about experience, it's about quest-rushing. Getting quest credit while in town makes it far easier to rush.
I have to disagree with the general point here. If you die, you didn't complete the quest. You should have to try it again and be successful at a personal level instead of being carried by your party. Players will just have to learn that they should wait for others to return to the fight if they want to play productively in a party. If they don't feel like having the courtesy to wait and help their party members, you can always kick them or leave the party. There is an intention of partying sometimes being a risky endeavor with a cut-throat nature. This game even has quests where you can kill your party members if you don't like their decisions. This topic is just another example of how some people will stab you in the back, making it all that more important to learn who to trust. Welcome to Wraeclast, I guess. Well...you died. In other words, you lost. Why should the game award you for dying? For decades gaming has been built on the mechanics that death=loss=game over=please try again.
Why should PoE be any different? I understand that it can be frustrating, but i really think that in order to finish the quest you MUST survive the boss battle. |

This may sound harsh, but don't rely on pug groups in this game. Even though you're in a group, the main reason most people will attempt to group is for the higher loot/xp gain. Because of the way some of the grouping mechanics are set up, it pretty much encourages a hostile atmosphere between party members--which I believe is intended.
My advice if you're going to make a tank build, i.e. lowish dps, but high survivability, is to already have a group of trusted people on your friends list who will operate as a group. If you don't, you should create a character that is capable of soloing it's way through the game. | |
There was more than once that the tank moved out in the last few hit, and I died as a caster from slightly far away (freezing pulse range).
Of course, I can solo it, but my party went to the next phase, and I have to wait for the next party (which is the next day). |

" I tried to make a Shield Templar, but the DPS is too low to solo, or it has mana management problem. So I was thinking to play as a group, but these happens from time to time. |

If you die during a boss fight and you're worried about your fellow party members finishing it off before you get back, just don't click the respawn button.
You can just lie there in a puddle of your own blood and still receive credit for killing the boss. You won't get the XP, though. Code warrior

Best part is watching other players taking all the yellow stuff allocated to you when you're stone dead from trying to protect them and inflict most damage. Oh well, life I guess.
Be ready. You're not paranoid, you're PREPARED.
I quit this game every few months and so should you to continue playing it in the future. The device is believed to have been dropped |

" This game is so much like real life. My boss takes credit for my work, and then threatens to fire me all the time. How realistic. :( |
