Pure Summoner build (Spam edition)
This is a pure minion build for witch which main focus is to be able to spam minions non stop. It is also important to get faster cast rate passive skill points to be able to spam skeletons, but also zombies much faster.
Passive skill tree for lvl 65. You need to spam your minions really fast, and you need mana regen for this. Skeletons linked with Faster cast rate passive skill gem: When you reach high lvl and you can summon 5 skeletons at once, you will be able to summon 16-20 skeletons in only 2-3 seconds. Your mana regen should always regen to maximum mana every time you use the skeleton skill, so that you can spam them non stop without the need of using mana potions. Discipline Aura: This is a must have aura for your survivability, and it works well with CI. Most other auras seem to suck for this build. DO NOT use wrath, anger or hatred. I,ve tried it, and couldnt tell a difference at all. Totem set together with a curse of your choice: You could go with temporal chains or vulerabilty. I went with vulnerability, because my minions seem to kill faster. The totem does not get killed if you place it proberly, this is because you got a bunch of minions that blocks off the totem. Another curse: Temporial chains is prob the best choice here. Make sure you got some dex to that you can use it. Because you have Whispers of Doom you can cast 2 curses on your enemies. One of the curses are auto casted by your totem, while you need to use the other one yourself. You should be able to spam the second curse really fast with ease, because the character has alot of faster cast rate, and you also get the Curse Cast Speed passives. Passive skill gems for minions: This is a little hard to decide. If you get mana problems for using too many you need to either remove some of them or attemt to get more max mana. You need to be able to spam. I cannot spam my zombies forever, but i can spam them really fast. I consider zombies to be my secondary minion skill, while skeletons is the primary because i just spam it forever. I recommend linking alot of good passive skill gems to zombies, such as the the Minion Life, Minion Damage, and ... Minion Movement Speed. I find that zombies get a great bonus from more movement speed, because they engage the enemy faster, acts less retarded and follow you around better. Quality for zombie skill gem also gives movement speed. For skeletons i already said that you need a Faster Cast Rate gem. I can afford to add a Minion Damage gem for skeletons though, but if i add too many i wont be able to spam, so for skeletons u just add the amount of gems possible while still being able to spam forever. Gear: Its important to get some mana regen from items. Here is an item that is PERFECT for this: Wanderlust whool shoes. (Unique Item) Thesse give you some mana regen, which is perfect, and they prevent you from getting frozen, which would realy really suck for this build. They also give you movement speed which is a nice combo if you curse enemies with temporial chains and have high movement speed yourself. You will be able to run a little away and spam your skeletons if you accidently placed yourself in the wrong spot (Minions needs to block enemies from attacking you.) Other than that, you will figure out the gear yourself. You need some resits of course, which should not be a problem. You also need a decent energy shield armor, spell damage for wand is useless, because it does not apply to minions, stay away from spell damage, try to get mana stats or something else instead. Shield should be very defensive with high ressits and armor. Note: I dont recommend using Necromantic Aegis because you need that shield for your surviability. This build does not need OMFG EPIC GOD LIKE GEAR to do maps, allthough i am only doing low maps atm because i cant find high lvls. If you want to do maps with this build, stay away from Players have Blood Magic, Players cannot regen Health or Mana, Players regen Health and mana slower. (Allthough the last one is definetly possible if your build is good enough, i did one with 50 percent less regen.) Also players are cast With temporial chains can be a problem. Feel free to discuss if u think there is something wrong or missing with the build. Questions are also welcome (: Edit: If you think its a waste to have a totem that casts a curse, you can add Wrath to your totem and it will give you and your minions wrath, and it will not reserve mana. You can do it with anger too if you have strength enough, but hatred reserves a percentage of your mana, and should therefore not be used. |

I would drop the health increase nodes and just pick up Chaos Inoculation. The witch is going to have very low health no matter what you do unless you dip into the templar tree, so you're better off just maxing out your energy shield.
I also don't understand why you have points into strength and dexterity? Maybe there's something I'm missing here but if you dropped those it would mean you could pick up Hex Master and Whisper of Doom faster. But like I said, I might be missing something. Lastly, I highly recommend you try to move towards leadership. An extra 50% aura range is very helpful. Otherwise you're constantly forced to be right on top of your minions and that's not always the safest place to be standing. Plus moving that way you bring you closer to that last minion tree and also give you access to two 20% mana regen nodes, which you don't seem to have many of. Clarity might remove the need for it but I haven't played around too much with it so I can't say for sure. |

" Right, the only reasson i added points in dex and str was that i used some different gear early on (Allthough this was in the old passive tree), because i was new to the game and didnt really think that the witch has like almost no need for dex and strength. Im gonna spec some point and change the tree. For CI i considered the skill as very risky and energy shield dedicated to put a point into, but now that i have played this game for a while i see the value in it. I have problems with chaos damage, but now i have added a point in CI to solve that. (And changed the link.) Im gonna do fetid pool on all difficulties to remove fitness and other passives that i dont need anymore, but i had a need for them earlier on because of gear. Because i have CI now, i think Discipline is a must-use aura. Thanks for your advice. Also, early on i used Freezing Pulse until like late act 2 in normal. This is because its pretty much impossible to do a pure summoner very early on. When you lvl up in act 2 you,ll notice Freezing Pulse getting less and less usefull, while your minions gets better and better. |

Depending on which gems you plan to use, Dex and Str can bring them to a higher level hence making them more effective.
Temporal Chains, Added Cold Damage, Hatred, Lesser Multiple Projectiles - Dex Anger, Reduced Mana Cost, Totem - Str Those are just the ones I use myself currently. Of course you can probably get the requirement through gear or just pick what you need through the passive tree as needed but the point being if you plan to get max usage from your gems you will need Str/Dex IF you use gems that require it, which will most likely be the case. " Thanks alot. I dont really use any normal skills. (U said something about Lesser Multiple Projectiles.) I only use minions skills, simply because i dont have any passives that support normal skills, which means that using a normal skill might just be a waste, because it will prevent you from spamming the skeletons a bit. This build REALLY is a pure summoner. You could prob use a totem that used a skill like Ice Spear, but i really prefer having one of the curses being casted by the totem. Simply because the whole casting process goes faster this way. This build is quantity of skeletons over quality of zombies and skeletons, but it really does make up for this because you can raise all your skeletons so damn fast. |

I don't like using totems for curses because it does not put curses where I want them, it spams the closest mob with it.
